Detailed review

Finally, last week end, we visited the Wonder World Water Park and Resort, at Malatipatpur, Puri. It was long due on me, postponed several times due to rain. But last week, we decided to spend the day there. Along with me and my family, my best friend joined us with his family.

They have two types of tickets : General and VIP. The VIP ticket costs significantly more with the only difference being, you eat a Buffet Lunch in A/C Restaurant. Though their site says, they have VIP Slide Entry, in reality, its not true. No one cares about it unlike other places, where you have a VIP entry for each ride.

They give a pair of costume with a refundable security deposit of 150/- per pair. However, they are not washed well. Good that my wife and kids had taken their costume. We even tried to buy it in the shop present inside but then there were no stocks. So we had to adjust with those not so well maintained costume. If you have it, then best to carry it. And I bought a waterproof cover for the phone, which was a big mistake. I thought, pictures would come fine as it was a sunny day. But later when we saw, they were pretty bad. So best to take your phone and take some pictures and then go back and keep it in the locker. The locker is not too far, so you can bring it again, if you want later. Only some videos were ok, which I have posted here.

This is the pool you enter after going inside, and it was disappointing to see the water level. It was hardly half filled. And then the kids tried the slides, and my daughter got stuck half ways. She had to kick to go down, there was not enough water flowing or the sliders are not working the way, they should. My friend tried one and he experienced the same. So literally all you can do is sit inside water, that also is not enough - may be sleep inside - that is what my son did finally.😀

We decided to take some snaps and move on to the wave pool. As you can see, photos are not that good, because of the waterproof cover.

The wave pool was also not up to expectation. Only one side of the pool is working, the right hand side is not working. And they have a stage in the middle, where they have some local models dancing to the tunes of item songs. Definitely something that kids did not like.

After some time, they brought it another hot model, who kind of went wild to tempt the young mass, but then, we were laughing at the moves, that had possibilities to get her inside the pool 😀

Not sure, if their bar is operating or not, but this was definitely not a family environment. We decided to move on to other rides. The kids enjoyed these rides, you can see in the video. But then there was no separate VIP Slide Entry. Also I felt, the service was not very prompt.

Unfortunately, heavy rain started as we started these rides, and we were feeling cold after spending half an hour and decided to take the highest ride.

The kids were disappointed to go here to hear that kids are not allowed. That too the red section is not even working. One thing I was very happy about - my son was not fearing any more. He always had this fear of height earlier, now he is surprised himself how that went away. He was disappointed not to be allowed the ride, and coming back, spent some more time in a kids pool.

When we went to take bathe and change our clothes, it was disappointing there too - they definitely do not have enough water for bathe as well. The sprinklers were literally useless, and the water was salt water. This area falls near the coast, but they did not do water treatment well. As the weather became chilled, we managed to take light bathe and then go for the lunch.

The soup was not even hot - we asked to make it better but then there was no action.

The food was tasty, but little spicy. Good that the kids were very hungry and still enjoyed the food. And this was the only benefit of a VIP ticket - you can enjoy unlimited food. So they took their time to taste all the items.

Chicken Biriyani saved the day as it was less spicy. The sweet ( Rice Khiri) was limited though, kids wanted more. Coming back, we took some more pictures.

Overall, it was some fun time spent, but then its not worth the money and driving 60 km to get there. It definitely needs to be better for a ticket price of 999/- each. In fact, the VIP ticket is not worth, if you really want that Buffet Lunch in A/C Restaurant. Rest all are same. This will be part of my google review of this place. On our way back, we did not miss the tender coconuts.
