Looking back at 2021 and 2022 Plans

2021 was a year to be remembered - at some point, it gave us some hope - I thought, I could try to hit all the goals that were pending since previous year, because of Covid, by running faster - I tried to throw myself to a race. But after some time, I realized, there is a hand that does the magic - it directed the clock to rotate anti-clockwise. The blessed hand was telling us in disguise - you can only try but at the end its me who decides.

Then I took a pause, started looking back - it was not that bad - we could not do everything that we wanted but we are alive. We did enjoy the slow down of life - we enjoyed the family - everyone at home. Kids were not going to school and initially we thought its difficult but slowly we adjusted. We enjoyed their presence all day. It was a bit of extra work - but we spent more time with each other. There were moments, when we were excited to think that everything will be normal - but after some time, we realized to adjust to the new normal. The best way to make ourselves happy is to lead a minimalist life and Covid taught us that. To be able to adjust into every situation with what we have. We had money, but we did not have shops open to buy anything. We had vehicle but we were not allowed to go out.

Before Covid, Working from home was like sleeping from home. Now working from home is a profitable model for the companies - people now understand what I have been doing for last 10+ years. There are more opportunities with WFH.

Schools were telling us not to give mobile or laptop to kids - now every kid is having a gadget ( mobile, tab, desktop or laptop) to be online. There are frustrations but that is the new norm. It teaches us to deal with situations with patience, in a clever way.

As history says, the pandemic comes once in a century. So this was in our destiny - we should be thankful to God, to be alive. It teaches us one thing - life is a crossy road, but may be its because we tried to run too fast !! If we slow down a bit and enjoy what we have, then may be things will look simple.

With that, I must say, I do not have any goals for 2022. Whatever you plan, at the end, you barely have any control. But I will consistently give my best effort to do what I can without seeing dreams - the best way to make your dreams true is to get up. So instead of setting any goal, I will try to achieve - realistically. Slow down and achieve - to make the crossy roads easy.

The first step is to spend some time with my parents and start this year with their blessings. So we have come today to my native to see that happiness on their face. The new year would not have a better start leaving them alone.
