They started a new beginning in life and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. As I said in my last post, this was on the evening of Holi, ending the day with more colors. It is customary in our culture for the bridegroom to go to the wedding venue. And the groom's procession is the most enjoying part, in our marriage.
The groom is from our apartment society and an air conditioned mini van was arranged for our society's people to join in the wedding procession. It felt as if we went for a mini picnic. It's a lot of fun to dance to the tunes of loud music and the groom himself came out and danced to few tunes, along with their relatives. Our ladies group did match to the tunes nicely , which you can watch in the video.
On entry they did serve some drinks and starters in limited quantity - the groom holding the coconut and waiting for the bride's side to come for the early rituals and welcome.
The wedding reception was arranged at Taj Vivanta with some great decorations from the bride side.
The entry of the bride was no less than a bolywood movie, after which they both exchanged garlands with some nice fireworks to capture these moments.
As you can see a separate pandal was set for the customary rituals to happen afterwards - the essential part of any Hindu marriage.
And then some great combinations of starters in both veg and non-veg followed by large collection of main courses.
As we went in a large group, the time was pretty enjoying - trying out different foods and capturing some nice moments. The wedding hall was big enough to accommodate large number of crowds - they did arrange several places serving the same menu, making it easier for the guests to pick and enjoy. Usually this becomes an issue, if many people come at the same time.
By the time we came back it was more than 12'o clock in the midnight, but the journey in that mini van was quite a fun, laying the foundation stone of a picnic that probably would happen soon.
Congratulations to the newly weds to start a new life and may their love grow stronger and deeper through each passing day. As a tradition, a separate reception is arranged from the groom's side on the fourth day of the marriage and this was hosted at MAYFAIR Convention, a place lot nearby to our apartment. Most of the people from our society attended this function, may be for that reason.
The food choice was great here as well, serving at one place, unlike the previous venue. The guest list seemed to be covering maximum guests from our society - all known faces enjoying the food, and taking some nice snaps.
Overall a nice evening spent with some good captures in this great ambience. I hope you get a feel of our Hindu marriage from this post, though there are lot of rituals that are practiced, which did not make here.
