Juan Luis Guerra Seijas (Santo Domingo; 7 de junio de 1957) es un cantautor, arreglista, músico, productor musical y empresario dominicano quien ha vendido más de 30 millones de discos, que ha ganado numerosos premios, incluidos 27 Grammy Latinos, dos Grammy estadounidenses y tres Premios Latin Billboard. Nacido como Juan Luis Guerra Seijas, es hijo de Gilberto Guerra Pacheco, y de Olga Seijas Herrero; tiene dos hermanos: José Gilberto Guerra Seijas, cirujano plástico, y Diego Esteban Guerra Seijas, economista. Fue alumno del colegio La Salle y Santa Teresita, donde destacó por su afición a los deportes. Antes de interesarse por la música, Guerra estudió Filosofía y Literatura en la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo. Más adelante, estudió guitarra y teoría musical en el Conservatorio Nacional de Música de Santo Domingo, y luego decidió ir a Estados Unidos para asistir al Berklee College of Music en Boston. Osea no estamos hablando de cualquier musico o artista que con su solo dones o buen contacto llego a donde se encuentra ahora.. ya que cada letra que compone viene con un profundo mensaje por sus mismos estudios, ademas de la catedra a nivel musical que tiene gracias tambien a esas maestrias realizadas, significa que Juan Luis Guerra no solo hace musica para los pies y bailar si no tambien para la mente con arreglos musicales en otro nivel ya que el logra combinar la base ritmica del merengue con la composicion del jazz que fue su especializacion.

Born Juan Luis Guerra Seijas, he is the son of Gilberto Guerra Pacheco and Olga Seijas Herrero; he has two brothers: José Gilberto Guerra Seijas, a plastic surgeon, and Diego Esteban Guerra Seijas, an economist. He was a student at La Salle and Santa Teresita schools, where he stood out for his love of sports.
