Hive Open Mic Week 138 - A whole new world (Cover) by Samuel and Frans

Hi, dear friends and family at Hive Open Mic Community. Introducing me, my name is Samuel Stifen a guitarist, and my friend Frans as a Vocalist. We both are an acoustic pop band called The People People. It's unbelievable, the weekly event #openmic has entered number 138. Every day we see great and talented musicians here. This proves that the Hive Open Mic weekly event is getting ahead of the curve.

So, this week's theme is “Magic”. This theme was chosen by @zullyscott, a singer and guitarist in this community. I love the way he sings while playing his guitar. From this week's theme, we both performed a cover song entitled "A whole new world" which was written by Alan Menken and popularized again by Zayn Malik and Zhavia Ward in 2019. That same year, this song became the soundtrack for the latest version of the Aladin film. and received a lot of positive responses from the community.

We both chose this song to perform this week because it tells about the happiness of Aladdin who has received the love of princess Jasmine. As a gift and offering to princess Jasmine, Aladdin invites her to explore and enjoy the beauty of the world on a magic flying carpet, while singing this song. A Whole New World is not a new song because it has been played since 1992 when the Aladdin film was first released.

The song A Whole New World is so popular that various versions from different singers are scattered and ready to be enjoyed. In 2019, Zayn Malik's version, which blended with Zhavia, captivated many listeners and was said to be the best cover version. Overall, the meaning of the song A Whole New World, which is the soundtrack of the film Aladdin, is to live a new chapter in life, to continue to love in simplicity, to have the courage to face all of life's challenges where every turn there is a surprise waiting.
