Annies New Home

It was Annie’s first experience in this new home

The first thing she did was to check out every room, there was a huge lounge room, with a side dining room and Kitchen, it all seemed open plan, plenty of room to run around and play, more than the last house where her parents used to always tell her to slow down lest she knock something over or, heaven forbid, she should bang her head.

Annie quickly ran upstairs, yes, this house had an upstairs, the stair case had a bend in it and even though Annie was just running up the stairs for the first time, she was already thinking of the run down, and how she would so like to slide down as fast as she can.

Up at the top of the stairs was a huge hall way with 5 doors, each door led to a Bedroom with large windows and the fifth door led to a massive bathroom.

This house was definitely the Bees Knees, especially compared to the last one.

As Annie stood in the hallway, she looked up and saw a large trapdoor, oohhh, she though, that must be an Attic, I don’t know if I want to go up to the attic, that seems a little scary and I might get stuck.

Annie then sent her mind to the sliding down of the staircase and promptly dashed off.

When she reached the bottom of the stairs, she ran around excitedly, and dashed outside and then back in again. The back door was open so she ran out the back and delighted in seeing all the back yard, with a garden and trees, oohhh. So much fun to be had, she ran back in again, and around the lounge room, into the dining area and the kitchen and then dashed to the Front Door.

Gerald and Mary were just coming in , carrying boxes to add to the ever growing pile in the corner. The moving men were just bringing in the lounge chairs and sofa.

Gerald looked around. ‘Annie has certainly been enjoying herself he said’.

Mary was looking out the back door at the gardens, I see she has already found the gardens, she turned round and looked at Gerald exasperated, and I can she has already had her feet on the Table.

Well, Gerald said, maybe she will settle when we put her Kennel on the back porch, and if we put a fence around the garden then she can run around to her heart’s content in the Backyard.

Annie sat at Gerald feet, looked up and wagged her tail at the sound of his voice and the thought of this exciting new home.
