Hello, dear friends and family of Hive Open Mic! I’m happy to greet you, hoping that week 147 will bring us wonderful presentations around the theme "A Grateful Heart"; I know that the talents of this community will not disappoint us.

For this occasion I bring you a cover on electroacoustic and electric guitars of a song with a very interesting message that calls for reflection. It is Lithium, by the American alternative rock band Evanescence, from the 2006 album The Open Door.

The song talks about a person who suffers from chronic unhappiness, to the point that she has become accustomed to it, and although she apparently has the opportunity to overcome this feeling, she is quite attached to Lithium, an antidepressant, that is, she is basically afraid of happiness. This makes me reflect on the hard battle of people who suffer from mental illnesses, due to some life situation, and from which none of us are exempt. Those of us who are not going through a similar situation should have a grateful heart and look at life from a positive angle, looking for happiness in the little things and support those who need us most and be a drop of hope for them.

The musical background I used can be found on Youtube, and was edited with the App. Moises to suppress the guitars and keyboard, leaving vocals, drums and bass, so that I could integrate my guitars to accompany the track. The electric guitar distortion was achieved using Guitar Rig presets. The video was edited with the Movavi and Capcut apps.

¡Hola, queridos amigos y familia de Hive Open Mic! Me alegra poder saludarlos, esperando que la semana 147 nos traiga maravillosas presentaciones en torno a la temática “Un Corazón Agradecido”; sé que los talentos de esta comunidad no nos van a defraudar.

Para esta ocasión les traigo un cover en guitarras electroacústica y eléctrica de una canción con un mensaje muy interesante y que llama a la reflexión. Se trata de Lithium, de la banda de rock alternativo estadounidense Evanescence, perteneciente al álbum The Open Door del año 2006.

La canción habla de una persona que sufre de infelicidad crónica, al punto que se ha acostumbrado a ella, y aunque aparentemente tiene la oportunidad de superar este sentimiento, ella está bastante apegada al Litio, un antidepresivo, o sea, básicamente le tiene miedo a la felicidad. Esto me hace reflexionar sobre la dura batalla de las personas que padecen afecciones mentales, por alguna situación de vida, y de la cual ninguno estamos exentos. Los que no estamos pasando por una situación similar debemos tener un corazón agradecido y mirar la vida desde un ángulo positivo, buscando la felicidad en las pequeñas cosas y apoyar a quienes más nos necesitan y ser una gota esperanza para ellos.

El fondo musical que utilicé se puede encontrar en Youtube, y fue editado con la App. Moises para suprimir las guitarras y el teclado, dejando voz, batería y bajo, de modo de poder integrar mis guitarras para acompañar la pista. La distorsión de la guitarra eléctrica fue lograda mediante presets del programa Guitar Rig. El video fue editado con las app Movavi y Capcut.
