Guess the WIP Contest + How to Make a Magic Ring

For this week's Guess the WIP contest, I'll be using a magic ring to start my project. I learned how to make a magic ring last year when I made myself a boho round bag. A bag which is now owned by my mom. She saw my bag when she visited us during the holidays and she said she loved it. I told her I'll just make her another one but she insists it's the one she likes.

How to Make a Magic Ring

The last time I showed how to make a magic ring I just used photos. This time, let me share a short video. I promised back then that I would be making a videi tutorial for all left-handed crocheters out there so here it is!

    Guess the WIP Contest

I decided on making use of the different colors of polyseter yarns I have collected. These are 8ply yarns. I swear by the end of this year, I'm going to get myself a set of in-line crochet hooks. I am just realizing my love for multiple ply polyester yarns.

    Rastafarian colors

Anyways, this project will be making use of the Rastafarian colors otherwise known as Rasta colors. These colors are usually seen on Bob Marley's videos and posters. But I just found out that these colors have their representation. According to this article, the Rastafarians - which is a political and religious movement adapted the colors Ethiopian flag which is red (symbolizes the blood of the martyrs), green (symbolizes luscious greens and abundance of Ethiopia), and yellow (symbolizes the riches of Africa. While according to this,

the color black is a direct and obvious reference to the black community which began the Rastafari movement, urging followers to reclaim their homeland of Africa.

All I just wanted to find out was what the order of the colors are supposed to be, I was surprised to find out that there was a deeper meaning to these colors.

    Clues

Going back to the Guess the WIP contest, here are the clues.

    1. This project uses the rasta colors.
    2. I will be using a mystery material to finish this project.
    3. This may be used by anyone
    4. I will be making a regular size of this item. Some want theirs a bit bigger, I like mine just the average size.

As always, you can only guess once. Guessing will start as soon as this is posted and ends on Monday.
