Review of Chivalry 2 + 1 min of my gameplay

I'm playing this game on Xbox Series S.

Here is my review for Chivalry 2:

As you know, online games make up a very large part of the video game industry, and now I want to talk about one of the new ones out there, which is called Chivalry 2.

Chivalry 2 is a game in the style of Hack & Slash, which is followed in the medieval world as a multiplayer. Since the game does not have a story section,the production team did not spend much time on storytelling. The world of this game is divided into two factions, Mason and Agatha. The gamer can express his interest in playing for either of these two factions after the first training of the game and see a very short cut scene to introduce them. Of course, the choice between the two is not much different in the end and will not affect the gameplay.

Chivalry 2 Classes

There are four different classes in the game. In addition to the Archer class, which uses bows and arrows for long-distance combat, three other classes were designed for one-on-one combat. Of course, each of these four classes has its own characteristics.
The Vanguard class has very high physical strength and high speed. The Footman class is probably the best place to start because it is a balanced combination of armor, speed, and movement. The Knight class will also be the most powerful class in terms of health and armor. This class will be used more as a tank in combat so that it can be the main line breaker of its team by absorbing more enemy blows.

It must be said that there is almost a very good balance in the design of the four classes present in the game. The interesting thing about classes is the subdirectories designed for them. Each class will have three sub-categories that will be available to gamers over time by playing and gaining more levels. The Archer class, for example, will have three subcategories: Longbowman, Crossbowman, and Skirmisher. The first two sub-categories allow the gamer to use a specific type of bow and arrow and to better implement their role in the game as needed. Skirmisher also allows gamers to be involved even in hand-to-hand combat.

Chivalry 2 Combat

At first glance, one-on-one combat is not very complicated. The gamer can use three hit models, each of which has a very special animation. There is also the ability to defend against blows. Each of the kicks in the game can be chained to other kicks.That way, if you can put your opponent in a weak position and implement a chain combo, you can defeat him very quickly. It is possible to throw a weapon in the game, which can create very interesting moments. The creators of the game used realistic violence, but tried to use comedy in their game as well. For example, limbs amputated on the battlefield by gamers can be removed and of course used in combat. There are also a lot of pre-set dialogues in the game, all written in a comedic structure. Learning the general rules of the core gameplay and battles in Chivalry 2 does not take much time, but gaining skills in it depends entirely on the gamer. If you are one of the people who have played many multiplayer games, you can get a very good view of the matches and situations after a few fights. Overall, the core gameplay of Chivalry 2 is very enjoyable.

Gameplay of Chivalry 2

Unfortunately, Chivalry 2 has not been very successful in this area. The game has two modes, including Castle Siege and Free For All. The FFA section will also include Team Deathmatch games. In the siege of the castle, gamers are divided into Mason and Agatha factions and start the game in a structure of 40 or 64 people. The game of castle siege consists of different parts, and in each part of the game, the attacking team must perform various tasks to conquer the castle, while the defending team must simply prevent that task. Some of these tasks are not very attractive. In the other part of the game, FFA and Team Deathmatch also use a very traditional structure and put gamers in front of each other directly and without any additional tasks.

Another problem with Chivalry 2 is the lack of variety in the maps. The number of maps in the castle siege is limited to five, and the FFA has only three maps.

Graphics and Sounds

Unreal Engine 4 was used to build Chivalry 2. It should be said that Chivalry 2 will be a combination of good and bad in the graphics section. The game's art design is very well done and gives the gamer a sense of presence in medieval battles. In the technical part, of course, there are ups and downs. Some models, such as weapons and characters, have a lot of detail, but others, such as trees, were designed to be very poor quality. In some maps, there are also problems in the Draw Distance section that do not display the image background very well. The problem of loading models is also clearly seen at the beginning of each round. In terms of sound, the production team has been very successful. The sound of the collision of various weapons are beautifully designed and will convey the sense of combat well to the gamer. Also, the overall atmosphere of the fights is much more believable due to the ambient sound. In terms of voice acting, the creators took a very comedic approach. Almost all preset dialogues have a comedic structure.

Conclusion

Chivalry 2 has become one of the most popular multiplayer games these days. Of course, as mentioned, the lack of different parts of the game and also the small number of maps are the biggest weaknesses of this game. Chivalry 2 can be fun for hours, but for long it gets repetitive and boring.
