I’ve been staying in a Travelodge for the last three nights, for work. I usually head to the local Pub or Subway to eat, but this time around I was determined to save myself some cash so devised a little money saving meal hack and came prepared.
With just a few bags of couscous, some veg and fruit (which I’ve called veg in the video, but it’s technically mostly fruit) , a camping mug, knife and kettle, you’ve got yourself a decent meal.
Ingredients/ total cost
Couscous - £0.45/ pack
Tuna - £0.75/ tin
Various fruit/ veg - £0.40
Total cost = £1.55
Instructions
Tasting notes
The overriding flavour is artificial, derived from the cheap couscous, with a heavy lacing of cheap tuna and some added natural crunch from the fruit/ veg.
Variations
For a vegan version, leave out the tuna.
For a soup version add a lot of water
For something which tastes better, spend more time on prepping something totally different.

Conclusions
While I did save money on the food, the local Weatherspoons is just too close to my Hotel, so I ended up in there most nights after a work for a few jars, so I’ve spent the food money on beer! Oh well, it is Christmas!
Hope you liked my awesome video editing skills!
Enjoyed that!
Cheers!
