After the rage quit I decided to give Siren Head: Resurrection another go. After conversing with @gabotask (and being bullied by @therealflaws again) we concluded that the reason I was stuck in the divers camp could be a bug, seeing as my objective never updated itself and told me to keep searching the camp. This wasn't the case at all because even after starting the game over the same thing kept happening.
Turns out the objective is a joke. I was supposed to go search the cave below the camp as the note I found suggests. I don't really blame myself for being stuck at this part seeing as the in-game objective clearly states I should be searching the camp.
Starting a new save file did however fix the performance issues I had. The game is now running smooth and it looks better. Objects are more detailed and the game looks crisper in general so that's a good thing.
I manage to progress for a while but being the dummy that I am I do of course manage to get stuck again. Where's that damn key?
I also have a pretty bad run in with a fox. These things are absolute killing machines. I feel like I was just a second away from being stuck in an infinite death loop seeing as the game autosaved just 2-3 seconds before I was killed by the fox. When I loaded back in the fox would kill me almost instantly but luckily I managed to spray him.
Enjoy the episode!
