This vlog isn't 100% for the Curation Trail video series, but I did a touch-base thing about it... In general, I was talking more about curation rewards in generals, and how we can (and should) look at our Voting Power and earnings from upvoting others...

After the watching of Crypto Monday's webinar by @jongolson, I felt that someone was missing to be said regarding curation rewards... Jon was talking about a lot of things in the webinar and didn't get deeper into the curation rewards topic...

But, the next day, in the #HiveChat Jon asked Hivians question:

What do you choose and why...But you can only pick ONE! Do you create, curate, or delegate?

That really made me think... All three options have a value from a different point of views... I have picked "creation", but I would like to talk about curation and delegation this time...

So, let's start with the delegation... The main purpose of the delegation was to allow people to "delegate" (or lease) HivePower to other users/projects... So, you want to HELP someone, and you unconditionally lease the part of your HivePower to it... By doing that, your "active" HivePower is less, and your Upvote VALUE getting smaller...

But, after some time, we had an option to LEASE our HivePower to "unknown" people and receive in return a certain amount of liquid Hive... For example, you can do that on https://hive.dlease.io/ website... The effect is the same, you are lowering your upvote power by doing that, but you receive HIVE for doing that...

So, let's go back to CURATION in general... You upvote someone and that person receives around 50% of that upvote, and the other 50% is split between upvoters (curators)... As there is a whole science how the curation rewards are counted, I will not try to explain it to you, but in general, it can be a difference...

You can check your curation rewards on a website like https://hivestats.io/ (enter your Hive username), where you will see your "Curation APR"... It will show you how EFFECTIVE is your curation... Some people are chasing that number to be as bigger as possible, but that usually means that they do their upvoting 100% automatically...

And that is one of the big concerns that I was talking about in this vlog... Check it out...
