Algorand - The "Pure Proof of Stake" Crypto

Algorand bills itself as “the world’s first open, permissionless, pure proof-of-stake blockchain protocol that, without forking, provides the necessary security, scalability, and decentralization needed for today’s economy.” In contrast to many other cryptocurrencies that simply want to solve the problems of the existing fiat-based financial system, Algorand also recognizes that there are problems with existing cryptocurrencies and attempts to solve both of these problems at the same time. In this video, I will explain the basics of what Algorand is, some of the issues with existing blockchains, and how Algorand proposes to solve them.
