Greetings everyone. In the 105th week of Hive Open Mic, I tried to perform one of the most important and popular songs of Turkish music. The snowy beech forest song, whose lyrics belong to the great poet Nazım Hikmet and was composed by Zülfü Livaneli, is a work of about fifty years. For fifty years, people have been playing and singing, they know their words by heart. The lyrics of the song are very emotional and make you walk around in a city fairy tale. First you start walking through a snowy beech forest at night time and it's a creepy feeling. Then you find a hospitable house where you can take shelter among the in-laws. In the last stanza, he tells that he had to leave the one he loved in the city of seven hills. When he says the city with seven hills, the poet means Istanbul. Because Istanbul is also known as the city of seven hills among the people. I found this song, which I think is a very important color of our music with all these aspects, very suitable for this week's colorful theme. I hope you enjoy listening. Herkese selamlar. Hive Open Mic 105. haftasında Türk müziğinin en önemli ve dillere pelensenk olmuş şarkılarından birisini icra etmeye çalıştım. Sözleri büyük şair Nazım Hikmet'e ait olan ve Zülfü Livaneli tarafından bestelenmiş olan karlı kayın ormanı şarkısı yaklaşık elli yıllık bir eser. Elli yıldır da insanlar çalıp söylüyorlar, sözlerini ezbere biliyorlar. Şarkının sözleri oldukça duygusal ve insanı sanki bir şehir masalının içinde dolaştırıyor. Önce karlı bir kayın ormanında gece vakti yürümeye başlıyorsunuz ve bu ürpertici bir his. Ardından kayınların arasında sığınabileceğiniz misafirperver bir ev buluyorsunuz. Son dörtlükte yedi tepeli şehirde sevdiğini bırakmak zorunda kaldığını anlatıyor. Yedi tepeli şehir derken de şair İstanbul'u kast ediyor.
