Carthago Delenda Est, "Cartago debe ser destruida", es la canción número 6 del tercer trabajo de mi banda Overground "Sisyphean Endeavour", 2018, donde participo como guitarrista y voz líder.

Carthago Delenda Est, "Carthage should be destroyed", it is the song number 6 of the third work of my band Overground "Sisyphean Endeavour", 2018, where I participate as guitarist and voice leader.

Es una canción que nos habla de aquella tenaz rivalidad entre la República Romana y Cartago y la finalización de la misma en la tercera guerra púnica en el año 146 antes de Cristo.

It is a song that speaks to us the tenacious rivalry between the Roman Republic and Carthage and the finalization of the same one in the third Punic war in the year 146 before Christ.

Musicalmente está llena de matices, comienza rápida y violenta, luego ralentiza su velocidad para sumergirse en melancólicas melodías que representan los sentimientos inmolados en la batalla, el dolor de una civilización exterminada, en un tercer acto existe un crescendo previo a los épicos solos de guitarra y terminar con evocaciones exóticas, en un golpe avasallante como la muerte.

Musically it is full with shades, it begins quick and violent, then slow its speed to dive in melancholic melodies that represent the feelings immolated in the battle, the pain of an exterminated civilization, in a third act a crescendo precede to the epic solos of guitar and to finish with exotic evocations, in a blow overpowering like death.

Fue Cartago fruto de uno de los pocos actos de colonización pacifica, herederos de la civilización Fenicia, su poder comercial chocó con el surgimiento de una República Romana, destinada a ser Imperio. El nombre de la canción se debe a la famosa frase del Senador Romano Catón, el viejo, quien siempre que terminaba alguna intervención en el senado decía: Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam "Ademas opino que Cartago debe ser destruida"

It was Carthage fruit of one of the few colonization pacifies acts, heirs of the Phoenician Civilization, their commercial power collided with the emergence of a Roman Republic, in its destination to be an Empire. The name of the song owes to the famous phrase of the Roman Senator Cato, the old one who whenever it finished some intervention in the senate said: Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam "Besides I say the opinion that Cartago must be destroy"
