    About :
All aquarist lovers like me at some point suffer from the appearance of filamentous algae in our aquariums, it could be said that they are indicative that our aquarium is not balanced and that we must make some changes if not in the long term it can bring us great problems ! But not all of it is bad news, it is a problem that we can solve, it is enough to make some adjustments, today's post is an instructive video where I explain what a filamentous alga is, its morphology, and most importantly I will teach you how to treat this problem! so make yourself comfortable and enjoy my post!🌿🤯

WHAT ARE FILAMENTAL ALGAE🕵️‍♂️🍀/QUE SON ALGAS FILAMENTOSAS😲🤓

Well, to continue with this post, take a leaf from an aquarium with filamentous algae growth, then scrape it to take a sample that I would later observe under the microscope with different magnifications! As their name indicates, these plants are green "algae" because they are composed of two types of chlorophyll, A and B! their growth is fast and generally they do it in colonies covering any surface!🤔😮

These algae have an appearance of "filaments" and hence their name, they are grouped in the genus "Cladophora" filamentous algae can be found in almost any type of aquatic system from sea water to brackish. But the algae with the largest size in terms of their filaments are more common from fresh water, they generally appear in a habitat that is not balanced!👨‍🏫

As I mentioned in the explanatory video, algae appear when there are excess nutrients in our aquarium, the aquarium really must go through a system called "cycling" which is when it finds its biological balance, the bacteria begin to grow inside it and they help To decompose the nutrients, an excess of illumination "more than 8 hours of light" generates this type of problems, and it is exactly what happened to me so I reduced the hours of illumination of the aquarium.💡

What happens is that the nutrients are present in amounts that all our plants cannot absorb and an excess occurs, which combined with the few changes in water make the aquatic environment ideal for these algae! reproduction occurs with aploid and diploid cells, mitosis and meiosis occur in their life cycle!💥

A balanced fauna helps to eliminate these annoying algae, from snails to some shrimp help to eliminate them, but the most effective thing is to learn to balance our aquarium, we reduce the hours of lighting up to 6 hours, we can make weekly water changes to eliminate the nutrients Excessive that are dissolved in the water, we can eliminate them manually by cleaning the blade or tearing it if possible! To avoid all this we must test our water and measure its parameters!🧤🧤
