When we have a telescope we always want to be aware of any astronomical event and this month of March is very interesting to observe the moon because we will see a full moon that has been baptized as the worm moon for centuries! You have probably already seen it sometime in your life, it is a very big orange moon like the one in the corner of my photos! Actually in Central America we could see the worm moon better but join me in this video to see the worm moon in Portugal!😲🧠🔭

Cuando tenemos un telescopio queremos siempre estar al tanto de cualquier evento astronomico y este mes de marzo es muy interesante para observar la luna porque veremos una luna llena que tiene siglos de haber sido bautizada como la luna gusano! propablemente ya la has visto alguna vez en tu vida, es una luna muy grande de color naranja como la que esta en la esquina de mi fotos! en realidad en centroamerica era que podiamos ver mejor la luna gusano pero acompañame en este video para ver la luna gusano en Portugal!

So we are going to explain why this beautiful big orange moon is called "worm moon", I did some research on the origin of the name and apparently it is quite old and it is believed that the names were placed by ancient American tribes, including the European! In general terms, this moon symbolizes a seasonal change, that is, it is the reflection that the moon gives us a signal between the end of winter and the beginning of spring! there is not necessarily a single super-moon, but this year is the first astronomical event🧠🤯!

Entonces vamos a explicar porque se le llama "luna gusano" a esta luna tan bonita grande y narajan, estuve investigando un poco el origen del nombre y aparentemente es bastante antiguo y se cree que los nombres fueron colocados por las tribus americanas antiguas, incluyendo las europeas! en terminos generales esta luna simboliza un cambio estacional, osea es el reflejo de que la luna nos da una señal entre el fin de invierno y el inicio de primavera! no necesariamente existe una unica super-luna, pero en este año es el primer evento astronomico!🔭🌕🧠

La luna gusano es muy grande y tiene un color anaranjado que es el reflejo de los rayos solares, tristemente en Portugal la vimos un poco mas grande de lo normal pero para que ustedes disfruten de una "luna gusano" utilice el filtro en el objetivo del telescopio asi "teñi" la luna del color natural, es muy interesante leer la historia de la luna gusano porque en 1930 se publico en una revista que las tribus americanas llamaban a esta luna "luna del cuervo", y es que se asociaba al animal con la luna porque el ave emitia un sonido que era indicativo que el invierno habia finalizado!🧠🔭

In short the worm moon was so called because when it was seen in the sky the barks of the trees that were frozen by the winter, entered the spring season and when they thawed the red worms appeared on the surface! You can hear the broader explanation in the video!🔍📕🌏

En resumen la luna de gusano fue llamada asi porque cuando era vista en el cielo las cortezas de los arboles que estaban congeladas por el invierno, entraban en la estacion de primavera y cuando se descongelaban los gusanos rojos aparecian en la superficie! la explicacion mas amplia la podras escuchar en el video🔭😮💯!
