HIVE Account Creation & Wallet Tutorial/Guide

Peace HIVE fam,
My first 3Speak video will be a tutorial/guide for creating a HIVE blockchain account and setting up the HIVE Keychain wallet. If you're new to HIVE this video will give some great foundational information also.

Here's a quick summary of the account creation steps in the vid.

Step 1
Go to https://signup.hive.io and choose 1 of the free or paid options. In the video I cover (and prefer) Blocktrades (paid) and Ecency (free). Note that the free and paid options offer different levels of privacy and convenience.
LeoFinance also has a "lite account" feature that allows users to create an account with some limitations using their Twitter or Facebook login. Also, the team at 3Speak is releasing "ceramic accounts" very soon. This is going to change the game. Read more here.

Step 2
Regardless of which option you choose, you will be reminded to securely store and backup your password/keys. If you choose a free option and there are free accounts still available, your account will be minted immediately after submitting your information. If you use a paid option like Blocktrades, your account will be minted once you pay the transaction fee (roughly $3) and the transaction is confirmed.

Step 3
Now that your HIVE Web3 profile/wallet is minted on the blockchain, you want to download the HIVE keychain browser extension to be able to quickly plug in to the different dApps, communities, and platforms. For those that are familiar with the Ethereum blockchain and its Metamask browser extension, the HIVE Keychain serves the same primary purpose...allow seamless login access to all platforms and services in the blockchain ecosystem.

Step 4
After downloading the HIVE Keychain browser extension, use the username you selected and the password you were provided to import your Web3 account to the HIVE Keychain browser extension.

With your account imported, you now have access to the robust, expanding HIVE ecosystem.

To sharpen up on your intel before diving in, I would definitely check out the "Why HIVE?" page and of course the whitepaper. There's so much more to HIVE than just content creation so you definitely want to familiarize yourself with things like the tokenomics, governance structure, node operators, DeFi, etc.
