More and more wild birds keep visiting my birdhouse to feed on the sunflower seeds in order to survive the harsh winter season.
From the beginning, it was mostly the Tits (three types: Great Tits, Blue Tits and Coal Tits) who took advantage of the much needed food. But the House Sparrows soon joined them as well.
Recently, a Great Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos Major) started to visit the birdhouse and eat the seeds alongside the smaller birds. Unlike the Tits and Sparrows, the Woodpecker doesn’t rush to safety of the thujas after getting a seed. He’s bigger and less of a target of raptors, so he just gets a seed and eats it right on the nearest branch.
The music used for the video is my own guitar solo in D-minor which I composed and performed. It was recorded live before a live audience.
