>_ El pasado fin de semana se corrió la séptima fecha del MotoGP en el circuito de Montmeló, el Gran Premio de Cataluña.

// Quinta pole position consecutiva de Quartararo //

>_ Después de mantenerse constante durante todo el fin de semana, el piloto francés, Fabio Quartararo, logró su quinta pole position de forma consecutiva, reafirmando el gran paso que tiene con la Yamaha oficial.

En la P2 saldría Jack Miller con la Ducati oficial, seguido de Johan Zarco y su Ducati del equipo Pramac Racing en la P3 y Miguel Oliveira, que obtenía su mejor clasificación en lo que va del año, arriba de la KTM en la P4.

>_ Miguel Oliveira se llevaría la victoria en el circuito de Montmeló, después de dominar durante prácticamente toda la carrera. El portugués logró una gran arrancada y rápidamente pudo ubicarse en la P2 detrás de Jack Miller. Apenas en la segunda vuelta de la carrera, el portugués se pondría líder después de rebasar a Miller en la Ducati oficial, para empezar a gestionar sus llantas en un circuito que es bastante abrasivo.

Johan Zarco se quedó con la segunda plaza, después de enfrentarse a Miller, Mir y Quartararo, este último en multiples ocasiones. El francés se tuvo que conformar con la P2, a pesar de alcanzar a Oliveira faltando dos vueltas para el final de carrera y tener llegar con un mejor ritmo. Aún así, no pudo adelantar a la KTM.

Jack Miller heredó la tercera posición pese a terminar detrás de Quartararo. A pesar de obtener rápidamente el liderato de la carrera, el australiano sufrió durante la primera mitad del gran premio al no poder mantener el ritmo de carrera de la KTM, Yamaha y la Susuki oficiales. Ya en la segunda mitad, logró mejorar sus tiempos y se enfrascaría junto a Zarco y Quartararo por la pelea de la P3, posición que heredó por la penalización de 3 segundos al piloto de Yamaha que cortó pista.

Johan Zarco took second place, after facing Miller, Mir and Quartararo, the latter on multiple occasions. The Frenchman had to settle for P2, despite catching up with Oliveira with two laps remaining in the race and having a better pace. Still, he couldn't overtake the KTM.

Jack Miller inherited third place despite finishing behind Quartararo. Despite quickly gaining the lead of the race, the Australian suffered during the first half of the grand prix from being unable to keep up with the race pace of the official KTM, Yamaha and Susuki. Already in the second half, he managed to improve his times and would engage with Zarco and Quartararo for the P3 fight, a position he inherited due to the 3-second penalty to the Yamaha rider who cut the track.

// Quartararo penalizado //

>_ Pese a dominar durante todo el fin de semana, el domingo el francés sufriría de un despiste en la segunda vuelta al buscar mantener la tercera posición, colocándose por un momento en la sexta posición. Pese a eso, logró alcanzar a Oliveria y darle batalla por la primera posición, pero el portugués apretó el ritmo y dejó fácilmente al de Yamaha. El francés sufriría dos penalizaciones, la primera de 3 segundos al salir y cortar pista en las curvas 1 y 2, y la segunda de otros tres segundos, por no usar su tracksuit correctamente y correr sin la protección del pecho que es obligatoria para todos los pilotos, con lo que pasó de la P3 a la P6 del gran premio.

Su compañero de equipo, Maverick Viñales terminó P5 y logró rescatar algunos puntos para la marca japonesa.

Mir terminó en la P4 después de pelear en la primera mitad de la carrera por el podio, pero desafortunamente no pudo hacer más al no poder gestionar correctamente los neumáticos. Rins no pudo participar debido a una lesión sufrida unos días antes mientras se encontraba entrenando en bicicleta.

El equipo Repsol Honda se quedó sin puntuar un solo punto, ya que sus dos pilotos sufrieron caídas. Pol Espargaro saldría en la quinta vuelta y Marc Márquez en la octava vuelta del gran premio. Para Marc, esta es la tercera carrera consecutiva en la que no puede sumar puntos por caídas.

Aleix Espargaro no logró finalizarla carrera pese al gran ritmo de la Aprillia.

// Quartararo penalized //

The Frenchman would suffer two penalties, the first of 3 seconds when leaving and cutting the track in turns 1 and 2, and the second of another three seconds, for not wearing his tracksuit correctly and running without the chest protection that is mandatory for all pilots, with what went from P3 to P6 of the grand prix.

His teammate Maverick Viñales finished P5 and managed to rescue some points for the Japanese brand.

Mir finished in P4 after fighting in the first half of the race for the podium, but unfortunately he couldn't do more as he couldn't manage the tires properly. Rins was unable to participate due to an injury sustained a few days earlier while training on a bicycle.

The Repsol Honda team did not score a single point, as both riders suffered crashes. Pol Espargaro would start on the fifth lap and Marc Márquez on the eighth lap of the grand prix. For Marc, this is the third consecutive race in which he cannot score points for falls.

Quartararo sigue liderando el campeonato a pesar de las dos penalizaciones con 115 puntos, seguido de Johan Zarco con 101 puntos, que pese a no poder lograr aún una victoria se mantiene firme y con un excelente ritmo. Miller se encuentra en tercera posición y cada vez más cerca con 90 puntos.
