Cuando preguntan cuáles son las cualidad a primera vista de un ajedrecista muchos contestan, táctica, profundidad, complejidad en sus posiciones, pero, muy pocos hacen énfasis en su habilidad en cuanto a su memoria hoy les muestro una partida que jugó Boris Geldfan en el año 1999 con blancas y encima de eso la jugó con sus ojos vendados y pese a que no tiene jugadas brillantes nos demuestra lo importante que es conocer la teoría del ajedrez y aun más lo mucho que ayuda el ajedrez al desarrollo de la memoria porque en esta partida Geldfan juega a ciegas la teoría del gambito de dama al menos en una de sus variantes y vean como cambia drásticamente la posición

When asked what are the qualities at first glance of a chess player many answer, tactics, depth, complexity in their positions, but very few emphasize their ability in terms of memory, today I show you a game that Boris Geldfan played in 1999 with white and on top of that he played it blindfolded and although it does not have brilliant moves it shows us how important it is to know the theory of chess and even more how much chess helps the development of memory because in this game Geldfan plays blindly the theory of the queen's gambit at least in one of its variants and see how drastically changes the position.

Geldfan abre la partida con Cf3 y apunta a una apertura Réti y aquí es donde les digo que comienza la clase de teoría debido a que rápidamente la posición se transpone a lo que es un Gambito de Dama con la defensa semieslava

Geldfan opens the game with Cf3 and points to a Réti opening and this is where I tell you that the theory class begins because the position quickly transposes to what is a King's Gambit with the half-Slavic defense.

Y todo lo que se juega a partir de ahí es solo tepría del gambito de Dama a tal punto que Geldfan incluye una pequeña celada en la que las negras terminan perdiendo la Dama, lo que me parece impresionante de esta partida es que no se jugó nada que no se enseñe a quienes están iniciando en el ajedrez mostrando así que puede desarrollar tu juego y mejorarlo estudiando la teoría al punto que te la aprendas de memoria, olvidaba decir que el encargado de las negras era Jerome Piket y se juego en Montecarlo en 1999 en una partida de exhibición.

And everything that is played from there on is just Queen's gambit theory to the point that Geldfan includes a small trap in which Black ends up losing the Queen, what I find impressive about this game is that nothing was played that is not taught to those who are starting in chess showing that you can develop your game and improve it by studying the theory to the point that you learn it by heart, I forgot to say that the man in charge of Black was Jerome Piket and it was played in MonteCarlo in 1999 in an exhibition game.
