Para muchos este un jugador incógnito de hecho casi desconocida para cualquier aficionado al ajedrez con la excepción de quienes están metidos en el mundo de este deporte ciencia saben quién fue realmente. Este icónico personaje nunca fue campeón del mundo piensa que la primera herramienta que retrasó por completo su oportunidad de ser campeón del mundo de ajedrez fue lo tarde que decidió comenzar a jugarlo de manera profesional siendo a los 24 años una edad ya muy tardía. Tal es considerado por muchos (me incluyo) como el más grande genio combinativo del ajedrez, pero, para declarar tan majestuoso halago hacía un rival que prácticamente lo humilló en el tablero, este rival tuvo que ser igual o mayor genio que el mismo Tal. Nezhmetdinov ostenta algo único en toda la historia del ajedrez y es el único jugador profesional qué no llego a formar parte de la élite mundial de su época, sin embargo, es el único jugador que tiene récord positivo ante quienes en su momento era y fueron campeones del mundo del ajedrez 6 Victorias 5 derrotas y 9 empates, entre los rivales de renombre que derrotó se encuentran Mijaíl Botvinnik, David Bronstein, Lev Polugaevsky, Efim Geller, Mijaíl Tal entre otros, y como seguidor de este deporte ciencia puede decir que para ganar una partida a cualquiera de estos momentos del ajedrez realmente Tenías que ser algo más que un genio.
