Sin duda alguna en los últimos 10 años un jugador que se ha mantenido en la élite mundial es el ahora estadounidense Levon Aronian y escogí una de sus partidas para demostrar el por qué digo tal cosa, una de las características más desapercibidas de Aronian es la forma en la que teje su red de mate y para explicárselos mejor vean la siguiente posición

Esta partida fue jugada en 2012 entre Anish Giri a cargo de las blancas contra el protagonista de hoy Levon Aronian en un torneo de élite en Alemania. A primera vista parece una posición equilibrada pero el caso es que hay una red de mate que se desatará una vez que la Dama logre unirse al ataque pero para hacer tal cosa debe posicionarse en la casilla f4 la cual está fiscalizada por el Caballo en e2 y lo más grave es que ese caballo está sobrecargado puesto que tiene que defender el peón en d4 quizá pueda aliviar esa presión el sr. Giri llevando a su Dama a g4 pero, la cuestión es que esa Dama aún así estaría muy lejos de la protección de su Rey y la Torre en b2 parece estar haciendo su trabajo en la segunda fila horizontal pero en realidad está haciendo lo que **Aronian ** quiere que haga es decir, nada.

Giri by taking his Queen to g4 but, the point is that that Queen would still be a long way from protecting his King and the Rook on b2 seems to be doing its job on the second horizontal rank but in reality it is doing what **Aronian **wants it to do i.e. nothing.
