Road to SteemFest: Stairs of Doom...and Monkeys!

After a fun-filled day of island hopping, swimming with the fish, and walking the beaches, we landed on Phi Phi island. We found our room, and I decided to take a hike up to the top point of the island. The only member of my family brave (or foolish) enough to join me was the the youngest (@koolitime). That kid is such a trooper!

Phi Phi island is definitely a fun place to visit. There was a surprising amount of things to see, eat, and visit in the nearby village. It's quiet and relaxing during the daytime, but once things turn to night, the place is rockin'! It's like party central!

It wasn't too bad until we hit a steep staircase made of stone. It seemed to go on forever. I really, really need to get in better shape. I'll work on that!

I'm pretty sure I died at least 3 times.

If you get bored of watching me pant and moan, just stick it out, because everything pays off when we're surprised by furry friends near the top!

I was amazed to see how well monkeys and cats get along. The cats seemed to genuinely enjoy having the monkey pet and clean their fur. It was an incredible experience. And the baby monkey walked right up to us. I'm glad it didn't jump up and bite our faces off.

I've got so many video clips to share after this. I'll need to decide to skip the footage and get to the actual SteemFest activities...or just go in sequential order of events. I'll probably just go with the latter and be delayed by a couple of days between when it happens and when I actually share the videos.

I've got one more day of island hopping to share, and then I'll finally get around to Bangkok, SteemFest check-in, and opening drinks.

I can't wait to get to the SteemFest parts. I'm meeting so many wonderful new friends! I'm sure you're all watching the live streams. So much exciting stuff happening!
