Hola amigos de Hive! 🧡

Hello friends of Hive! 🧡
Today I wanted to bring you some music from my country, in this case, a beautiful Venezuelan waltz by the authors Luis Laguna and Lencho Amaro. Venezuelan waltzes have beautiful melodies and lyrics with a lot of poetry, a poetry, in my opinion, very simple but very sweet and romantic, which are usually accompanied by the harmony and the characteristic rhythm of the cuatro for this musical form of our folklore.

Here are the lyrics of this waltz:

El sol se oculta en el atardecer
atardecer, atardecer crepuscular,
matizan la entrada de la noche
y una luna muy bella
comienza a aparecer. (Bis)

Como el atardecer
así eres, muñequita sin igual
lindo son tus ojos
y tus labios de matiz coral
quisiera sentir,
tu negra cabellera acariciar
y extasiarme en tus brazos
viendo el atardecer.

The sun sets at dusk
dusk, twilight, twilight,
tint the entrance of the night
and a very beautiful moon
begins to appear. (Bis)

Like the sunset
that's how you are, little doll without equal
beautiful are your eyes
and your lips of coral hue
I would like to feel,
your black hair to caress
and be ecstatic in your arms
watching the sunset.

I first heard this particular song a few years ago when I sang in my college choir, and I fell in love with that choral arrangement. Then I heard it in the magical voice of Fabiola José, an iconic singer, scholar and contributor to the Venezuelan folkloric tradition, and I was even more amazed to have heard it both ways. My cover is based on her version.

Thanks for stopping by and listening, I hope you liked it 😊 and I hope we'll meet again soon 🤗 Have a nice week!
