Este Retro Gameplay que les he traído esta vez quizá no es de alguno de los juegos mas populares de aquellas épocas pero en lo personal dejó una gran huella en mi, recuerdo que competía constantemente contra la computadora y luego de semanas jugándolo llegué a generar unas carreras apasionantes en la máxima dificultad posible, literalmente brincaba de mi silla en los momentos de climax.

Y es que pareciera que es solo un juego de carreras de motos pero sin duda es mas que eso, manejar en este juego no es tan sencillo, de hecho cuando lo pruebas por primera vez todo es muy accidentado, cuesta mucho dominar la moto a placer y en realidad creo nunca llegué a hacerlo, sobre todo en la dificultad 500CC que es la mas complicada de todas.

Pero lo que si puedo decirles es que una vez que le agarras al gusto todo cambia drásticamente, las ansias de competir se hacen cada vez mas fuertes, puedes llegar a sentir mucha frustración porque es el tipo de juegos de carreras en los que tienes que hacer todo prácticamente perfecto ya que ante la mas mínima caída o colisión, las posibilidades de recuperar el primer lugar bastante baja.

And it seems that it is just a motorcycle racing game but it is certainly more than that, driving in this game is not so easy, in fact when you try it for the first time everything is very rough, it costs a lot to dominate the bike at ease and actually I think I never got to do it, especially in the 500CC difficulty which is the most complicated of all.

But what I can tell you is that once you get the hang of it everything changes drastically, the desire to compete becomes stronger and stronger, you can get to feel a lot of frustration because it is the kind of racing games in which you have to do everything practically perfect because at the slightest fall or collision, the chances of regaining the first place quite low.

Este juego fue desarrollado por Funcom y lanzado para Playstation en el año 1999, existen otras versiones pero para mí esta es la mejor de todas. Las modalidades disponibles son Single race, Championship, Head to head, Time attach y Practice; en esta oportunidad decidí jugar Single race para darles una buena muestra de lo que es el juego.

Hay muchas motos a disposición y la verdad no quise detenerme mucho en este punto, así que sencillamente toma la roja (Hamaya MR250) que siempre usaba cuando jugaba en el pasado.

There are many bikes available and I really didn't want to dwell too much on this point, so just take the red one (Hamaya MR250) I always used when I played in the past.

Las pistas disponibles son muy variadas pero la mayoría cumplen con las características básicas del motocross que son escenarios de tierra o barro. En esta ocasión seleccioné Stirling, Scotland.

Esta es una toma lateral bastante cool en la que podemos ver el posicionamiento y maniobra que realiza el piloto cuando esta en el aire, eso lo logramos con el botón R2 del mando. Si bien es cierto me gusta la vista, suele distraer mucho mientras juegas, así que es mejor no abusar de esta opción.

This is a pretty cool side shot in which we can see the positioning and maneuvering that the pilot performs when he is in the air, that we achieve with the R2 button on the controller. While it is true that I like the view, it tends to be very distracting while playing, so it is better not to abuse this option.

En la categoría 250CC me fue bastante bien, de hecho diría que demasiado tomando en cuenta el tiempo que tenía sin jugar, pero ya en la dificultad 500CC la historia fue otra, batallé en dos oportunidades y el resultado fue el mismo, no pude pasar del tercer lugar, pero estoy seguro con unos días mas de practica podría quedar de primero, tal y como lo hacía hace muchos años.

In the 250CC category I did quite well, in fact I would say too well taking into account the time I had without playing, but in the 500CC difficulty the story was different, I battled twice and the result was the same, I could not pass the third place, but I'm sure with a few more days of practice I could be first, as I did many years ago.

Con este Gameplay en especial, me quedó la linda sensación de revivir una bonita época de mi niñez en la que era muy feliz y vivía con mucha tranquilidad; dediqué muchas horas en este juego que me brindó mucha diversión y momentos de adrenalina.
