En esta ocasión el Retro Gameplay que les traigo tiene la particularidad de que es el primero que realizo sin haber probado previamente el juego, solo tenía los precedentes de haberlo visto con mucha frecuencia en las salas de juego que habitualmente visitaba y la verdad es que me percaté de que era muy popular, de hecho recuerdo que el dueño del lugar tenía pocas copias de este juego y por ello algunas personas debían esperar que finalizara el turno de alguien que lo estuviera jugando para poder tener oportunidad.

Metal Slug X es un juego que fue lanzado para PlayStation en el año 2001 pero ya existía en la plataforma Neo-Geo un par de años antes, por lo que realmente no fue un estreno exclusivo sino mas bien una adaptación. El género es Matamarcianos y nos lleva a escenarios de guerra o en los que existen conflictos bélicos pero también sobrenaturales, debo decir que me sorprendió y gusto mucho su fácil y divertida jugabilidad, esperaba un juego quizá un poco mas tosco pero me encontré con una maravilla que te invita y llama a jugarlo por horas.

On this occasion the Retro Gameplay I bring you has the particularity that it is the first one I do without having previously tried the game, I only had the precedent of having seen it very often in the arcades I usually visited and the truth is that I noticed that it was very popular, in fact I remember that the owner of the place had few copies of this game and therefore some people had to wait for the end of the turn of someone who was playing it to have a chance.

Metal Slug X is a game that was released for PlayStation in 2001 but already existed on the Neo-Geo platform a couple of years earlier, so it was not really an exclusive release but rather an adaptation. The genre is shoot 'em up and takes us to war scenarios or in which there are warlike conflicts but also supernatural, I must say that I was surprised and I really liked its easy and fun gameplay, I expected a game perhaps a little rougher but I found a wonder that invites you and calls you to play it for hours.

La modalidad que seleccioné fue "Arcade Mission" que por lo que entiendo trata de ir pasando escenario en escenario hasta finalizar o morir en el intento, me pude percatar que el juego es bastante generoso respecto a las vidas y oportunidades que brinda y eso me gusta porque elimina un poco el estrés e invita a jugar a placer.

The mode I selected was "Arcade Mission" which, from what I understand, is about going from stage to stage until you finish or die trying, I noticed that the game is quite generous with respect to the lives and opportunities it offers and I like that because it eliminates a bit of stress and invites you to play at your leisure.

El juego ofrece cuatro personajes: Marco, Eri, Tarma y Fio. Respecto a esto me llamó la atención el modelo o animación en las fotos ya que me parecieron muy pintorescos; yo terminé eligiendo a Tarma ya que su look me pareció bastante interesante.

Mi primera impresión fue que el juego es básicamente un Contra mejorado y quizá con mas profundidad, evidentemente el avance en la tecnología benefició el hecho de poder aplicar mejor animación y jugabilidad, sin embargo, para mi fue básicamente lo mismo, avanzar y disparar a los enemigos. Me pareció muy interesante que puedes liberar rehenes y estos te recompensan.

My first impression was that the game is basically an improved Contra and perhaps with more depth, evidently the advance in technology benefited the fact of being able to apply better animation and gameplay, however, for me it was basically the same, move forward and shoot enemies. I found it very interesting that you can free hostages and they reward you.

En la imagen que les muestro debajo pueden observar la primera vez que muero, pero como ya les mencioné, el juego es generoso con las vidas. Me llamó la atención de ese intento de esvástica nazi que colocan como una X en el tanque, pero creo que todos entendemos la intención.

In the image below you can see the first time I die, but as I mentioned, the game is generous with lives. I was struck by that Nazi swastika attempt that is placed as an X on the tank, but I think we all understand the intention.

Una cosa que me pareció bastante divertida es que puedes montar un camello el cual cuenta con un arma muy potente, créanme que saqué mucha ventaja de esto.

One thing that I found quite amusing is that you can ride a camel which has a very powerful weapon, believe me I got a lot of advantage from this.

El segundo escenario es una especie de cripta o catatumba egipcia en la que eres atacado por momias y perros momificados, como ves en la imagen también te convierten en momia pero es momentáneo y no mueres a raíz de eso.

The second scenario is a kind of Egyptian crypt or catatomb in which you are attacked by mummies and mummified dogs, as you see in the image also turn you into a mummy but it is momentary and you do not die as a result of that.

Acá me pareció muy gracioso que el arqueólogo ni se moviera a pesar de estar en medio de una batalla campal, me gustó mucho ese detalle, quizá era sordo 😄.

Here I found it very funny that the archaeologist didn't even move despite being in the middle of a pitched battle, I really liked that detail, maybe he was deaf 😄.

En conclusión, me encontré con un juego ligero, divertido y muy entretenido, lo recomiendo mucho, yo en lo particular trataré de jugarlo con regularidad y quizá traiga otras versiones en el futuro. Este Gamaplay lo realicé con el emulador ePSXe y utilicé un mando genérico de computadora el cual ya tengo configurado para que opere tal cual lo hace el de PlayStation, también usé el capturador de video OBS Studio. Para editar este Video utilicé el programa Vegas Pro 17.0, el cual es bastante amigable para ediciones sencillas, la plantilla o marco la creé con PowerPoint.

In conclusion, I found a light, fun and very entertaining game, I highly recommend it, I will try to play it regularly and maybe I will bring other versions in the future. I made this Gamaplay with the ePSXe emulator and I used a generic computer controller which I already have configured to operate as does the PlayStation, I also used the video capture OBS Studio. To edit this Video I used the program Vegas Pro 17.0, which is quite friendly for simple editions, the template or frame I created it with PowerPoint.
