How to Make Powdered Sugar

Did you know you can make powdered sugar at home? This homemade powdered sugar recipe is awesome and super easy to make using just two ingredients.

Whether you ran out of confectioner’s sugar, icing sugar, or powdered sugar, whatever you want to call it, or you just really enjoy making your own ingredients at home, this recipe is for you.

You can use this homemade powdered sugar just like you would store bought kind. Use it in frosting, icing, glaze, baking, etc. It is so simple to make, if I can do it, you can do it. Let’s get started!

Ingredients

1 cup white granulated sugar 200g
1 tbsp cornstarch 8g

Instructions

Add both the white granulated sugar and the cornstarch to the food processor or blender. Replace the lid and blend away. After a while the sugar crystals will get finer and finer.

Keep blending and checking the sugar until it becomes powdery. I generally alternate between high speed and medium speed every 30 seconds, but that doesn't really matter.
