Sunday is slowly lowering the curtains and in a few hours, a new working week awaits us. With all the new restrictions, we will see how working it will be. But one thing is for sure, #SadSunday tag is here again. For the third time from me.

I want to thank everyone who has participated so far, with so valuable comments and for the support. As always, we concluded that Sunday is a day for joy and happiness, but we also agreed that even the happiest people must have their moments of sadness. Where we can express our pain, dissatisfaction, or sadness.

To deepen the topic of good and bad days, I recommend that you stop by this post. Every week at #EngageTheWeekend community there is a different topic where you can participate, learn about others, open up yourself and engage in a kind and a funny way. So this weekend I had not enough time to participate, but I read through some comments and that was amazing to see how some moments of charity or finding a family member can make a day as a memorable and the best day od your life.

We can afford sad moments even though we live with full lungs. It doesn't matter if you live a normal life or if you are a rock star, you can always find some moments where sadness creeps in for a while. It was probably the case with Freddie Mercury as well.

We all know how energetic and controversial was he on stage. However, in his private life, he was shy and kept his secret — he was hiding the truth about his illness from everyone, until the last few hours of his life. When we listen to his songs, they are energetic, enriched with a lot of instrumental details, his voice was outstanding and all the songs are diverse. He has collaborated with many other musicians, including a Spanish opera singer Montserrat Caballe. She said about Freddie:

His technique was astonishing. No problem of tempo, he sang with an incisive sense of rhythm, his vocal placement was very good and he was able to glide effortlessly from a register to another. He also had a great musicality. His phrasing was subtle, delicate and sweet or energetic and slamming. He was able to find the right colouring or expressive nuance for each word.

The song they recorded together for the opening of the Olympics in Barcelona attracted me to Freddie Mercury’s work. That’s when I became a big fan of his.

Still, this is not a sad song for a #SadSunday, right? I am actually in trouble as I would like to share now every song that he performed, but I will concentrate to a sad one.
Love Of My Life is one of them. Just a part from the lyrics will clearly show us his pain.

Love of my life, you've hurt me
You've broken my heart, and now you leave me
Love of my life, can't you see?
Bring it back, bring it back
Don't take it away from me
    Because you don't know
    What it means to me

Oh, Freddie, you were an idol for many. Maybe you had your own troubles and depressions, but you were a champion. In his song, We Are The Champions, I could recognize again some struggles and sadness. Although he shows himself as a fighter, the beginning of the text shows his difficult moments.

    I've paid my dues
    Time after time
    I've done my sentence
    But committed no crime
    And bad mistakes
    I've made a few
I've had my share of sand
    Kicked in my face
    But I've come through
And we mean to go on and on and on and on
We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting till the end
    We are the champions
    We are the champions
    No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the World
    I've taken my bows
    And my curtain calls
You brought me fame and fortune
And everything that goes with it
    I thank you all
But it's been no bed of roses
    No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before
    The human race
    And I ain't gonna lose
And we mean to go on and on and on and on
We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting till the end
    We are the champions
    We are the champions
    No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the World

I made my own piano version of this song. I have shortened it a bit and added broken chords in the left hand. First, I have written it down in Musescore, which is a free notation writing software and printed it out. I recorded it this morning and now I am uploading to #threespeak platform. Anybody interested in having the music sheets, I will gladly send it, just let me know.

I like to ask questions at the end of my #SadSunday posts. So, in general, do you like Queen and Freddie Mercury? Do you think he had sad moments in his life that made him write so good songs? As well, is anybody willing to join to write on Sundays this kind of posts that @music-community had listed as one of the tags in this post?

Wish you all a pleasant Sunday evening and a good, successful upcoming week.
