As promised in my early post here is a snapshot of the creek that runs along my home that lil miss 3 and I explored regularly.
The Kororoit Creek is a 50km Creek system that runs from inland Victoria all the way to the Melbourne CBD.
For thousands of years it was home to many Indigenous communities whom set up camps all along the creek sides on higher ground for the perfect vantage points.
The creek is home to Kangaroos, Wallibes, fruit bats, platypus, ducks, pelicans, perch, brim, and thousands of species of insects and hundreds of birds.
Inner city sections are upkept as popular walking tracks and parks and gardens. Unfortunately the introduction of foxes have destroyed many of the native habitats keeping away native animals. The further out you follow the creek the more natural and pristine it is.
With basalt columns and cliffs that span for miles it is a beautiful walking track that you will spend many years exploring . I have been for quite some time and over the years I have been taking my Lil one with me, finding the beauty that is hidden amongst the hustle and bustle of everyday suburban life.
