A feathered encounter on our ride around the wetlands

Our friends at @featheredfriends might not like this one but on our ride around the wetlands we encountered a flock of pigeons and seagulls. Little miss 3 was over the moon at the sight of the birds fluttering around us as we rode along the path.

No birds were harmed in the making of this video and little miss 3 has a memory that will last her a life time.

We don't typically ride this side of the lake as it is usually where ibis, pelicans and other birds take refuge. As the birds have begun to migrate there is a small window where only seagulls and pigeons line the bank.

We have at times come with bird seeds to feed the birds. But I don't tend to feed seagulls or pigeons. I see them as the rats of the sky. No offence to anyone who likes them. But all they do is flock in huge numbers and cover the ground in bird droppings which kills off native grasses and damages the environment.

The lack of native predators means these birds have been able to grow and breed in uncontrolled numbers competing with native birds and animals for territory and food.
