    About :

Gooooood day everyone I hope you're all safe and well.

One of the underutilised meats I find in this day and age is Pork, as I am half Italian it was pretty much the staple meat growing up and we ate it often.
Although there are many reasons why Pork isn't used because it's not eaten by everyone and if you have it in stock then it makes all your other food out of reach of potential buyers. But I want to bring it back!

For any Italian's watching this video clip you might be familiar with what I am making as they're typically used to make Italian meatballs. But why stop there? Why not expand and flip the whole thing into a tasty crispy burger? Give it a crack and let me know what you think!

This delicious Crispy Pork Burger Patty recipe, as burgers come in all kinds of shapes and forms for the purpose of this recipe I will be sharing just the patty mix. As a side note I often add bacon, egg, caramalised onion, lettuce and cucumber to mine.

This is a recipe that can be used in a number of ways which you can create two meals in one night to satisfy those fussy little eaters. It can also be adapted to be used in spaghetti meatballs pasta. Once you form a meatball give them a quick fry and add them to your pasta sauce.

For this video I decided to crumb the outside of the patties as I was also creating mini crumbed meatballs for the kids as they’re a little fussy and won’t eat a home made burger. It go cooking done and everyone fed.

I also have two additional patties that will be eaten tomorrow for lunch at work.

    Crispy Pork Burger Patty recipe

    INGREDIENTS

    1 large egg, beaten
4 slices tasty cheese (if making thinner patties you’ll need more)
    1 cup bread crumbs
    hand full of chopped parsley
    2 garlic cloves, crushed
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    500g minced pork
more breadcrumbs to coat (roughly 1.5 Cups)
    DIRECTIONS

In a large bowl, combine pork, parsley, garlic, salt, pepper and egg. Mix until all ingredients are evenly dispersed, add bread crumbs and knead crumbs into mixture until formed. Create four even patties (noting these will be quite thick you can make six or more depending on desired thickness) and use the rest of the mince to make mini meatballs for the kids, if not continue to create patties.

If you wish to crumb them you will need to coat in flour, egg wash and then dip in bread crumbs as shown in video.
For plain not crumbed: Heat a frypan on medium high heat, once hot coat frypan in oil, cook burger for 4 to 5 minutes on one side then flip. Place a slice of cheese on the cooked side (top should be facing up) cook for another 4 to 5 minutes. Cheese should melt nicely.

For crumbed: fill a frypan with around 2cm of canola oil, once hot fry patties flipping once golden brown.
Serve on your desired bun and with your preferred add ons.
