¡¡Gracias!!. :D

Gracias y espero que disfruten del vídeo.

Hello, the family of the Hive community! Welcome to this video about my prediction of the 3rd playoffs for the World Cup in Qatar 2022 in South America. In this video, I talk about how the games will be played and how they ended up in goals scored, in my opinion.

First of all, I want to talk a little bit about what the qualifiers are about, my experience and my opinion about these qualifiers, which in my opinion are the most difficult in the world.

What are they and what are the playoffs for? It's simple, the qualifiers are a series of soccer games where teams play against each other to get ranking points, and these points are used to position themselves in the top positions of a numerical table where the statistics and performance of each team are shown. When a team is in the high zone it has a good chance of getting a place in a major event, basically that.

    Screenshot

The qualifying rounds are played because in certain competitions there is a limited number of participants (the teams), this leads to the teams being competitive and fighting for the classification as best they can, since there is no prize for mediocrity and there are no invitations, simply if a team is in an important tournament it is because they won it and not because they paid to be there.

Why do teams want to qualify for the World Cup? The FIFA (who is, let's say, the sports federation of the whole world), organizes this event every 4 years to know which is the best team (country) in the world. This, obviously, has its economic benefits; millions of people attend a World Cup match and not for nothing soccer is the king of sports (which is very, very good for countries).

    Source

FIFA is divided by 6 confederations among the 7 continents that exist today, (not counting Antarctica, much less Zealandia, which is a continent sunk under New Zealand). There are the soccer confederations of Asia, Europe, Oceania, but the one we are going to talk about today is CONMEBOL, that is, the South American Soccer Confederation.

Here in South America, only 10 countries compete out of 13 on the continent, because both Guyana and Suriname belong to other confederations, so the 9 Spanish-speaking countries, plus Brazil, are the ones participating in these qualifiers.

    Source

The format is quite simple, the matches are played all against all and the 4 teams with the highest score go directly to the World Cup, while the 5th will go to a Play-Off round so to speak.

Why do I say that these are the toughest qualifiers in the world? This is because all the teams have almost the same competitive level, in other words, the level of this confederation is so even, that many matches are very close and since there are so few teams in this competition, the points are very difficult to get.

To give an example, it is not like Europe, which has too many countries; here in South America all the teams play with the same passion, with the desire to be the best and to qualify for the World Cup. It is not superfluous to explain that when a team wins, it receives 3 points; when it draws it receives 1 point, and when it loses it does not receive any points.

The issue of relocation is also an issue to take into account, because the South American continent is too big and that for a footballer is a lot of wear and tear, especially if the player resides in Europe.

Now that I've explained more or less what the playoffs are about, I'll tell you my experiences.

I remember that the first qualifying match was on the way to the World Cup in Russia 2018 when Venezuela was supposed to receive Chile in Puerto Ordaz and for my bad luck, La Vinotinto ended up losing the match by a landslide.

My nationality is Venezuelan and I have been watching my national team's games recently. The truth is that it is frustrating when your team seems to play without desire (as if they were unmotivated). Venezuela in the first two dates lost their first two games, against Colombia and Paraguay.

    Source

In the first game, it seemed like a training session for the Colombians because they scored the goals without getting out of hand and in the second game Venezuela was able to take the victory, but bad marksmanship and tiredness condemned them to a second defeat.
Curious fact: Venezuela is the only CONMEBOL team that has not qualified for the World Cup yet, and if it does, CONMEBOL would break a record for all its members to participate in a World Cup.

Venezuela came close to qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, but a defeat against its direct rival, Uruguay, left it without a chance to go to the World Cup.

But if you ask me, I find it very difficult for Venezuela to qualify for this World Cup, especially on the domestic front. In the past qualifying rounds, Venezuela also lost many games, but when it came to the end it was able to get good results, too bad it was already eliminated.

I have seen many games of this elimination and many I liked, recently I saw the one of Brazil against Peru, where Neymar Jr made a great game scoring 3 goals and assist, or the one of Uruguay against Chile, that finished with an agonizing goal of Uruguay around the minute 95.

    Source

These games are exciting, unfortunately in my life, I have not yet been able to see a CONMEBOL qualifying game in my own flesh, and however, I will follow this tournament so evenly because it is a competition worth watching.

    Source

If you are soccer fans as much as I am, you will agree that CONMEBOL has a higher competitive level than any other confederation and that several of the best teams on the planet play in these qualifiers. Thank you!!!! :D

Thank you and I hope you enjoy the video.
