La semilla marrón /The brown seed

Me entierro en avena,
quizás una hoja me crezca,
nada, nada pasa,
soy una semilla sin gracia.

Me remojo en agua,
a ver si un milagro me alcanza,
no crece ni una rama
y me seco con una servilleta que por ahí anda.

En esa servilleta me voy yo,
la semilla marrón,
quizás algún día la humedad,
haga que brote de mi una hoja de verdad.

I am a brown seed and I did not germina te until today's sun, how bad I look, without a leaf in my heart.

I bury myself in oats, maybe a leaf will grow on me, nothing, nothing happens, I am a seed without grace.

I soak myself in water, to see if a miracle will reach me, not even a branch grows and I dry myself with a napkin that's lying around.

In that napkin I go, the brown seed, maybe someday the humidity will make a real leaf sprout from me.
