Hola, hola! ¿Qué tal queridos amigos de Hive y de Espavlog? Nuevamente me encuentro junto a ustedes para compartir una experiencia que la verdad me gusta mucho hacer. Hace unos meses, les presenté una cata de cervezas en las que probaba diversidad de tipos nacionales e internacionales. El día de hoy, quiero hacer la segunda parte de ese video, ya que ha habido muchas importaciones de cervezas y también nueva producción en cuanto a la cervecería nacional, así que los invito a que me acompañen y disfrutemos juntos este video.

A few months ago, I presented a beer tasting in which I tasted a diversity of national and international beers. Today, I want to make the second part of that video, since there have been many imports of beers and also new production in terms of national brewery, so I invite you to join me and enjoy this video together.

Vamos a abrir esta cata con la cerveza Stella Artois, que es belga, con bastantes años de tradición porque data desde 1366. Es de tipo lager, tiene 5º grados de alcohol. Su nombre, Stella en latín, significa estrella y hace referencia a la estrella de Belén, por lo cual se considera que esta cerveza es una cerveza de temporada navideña. Tiene un color claro y es bastante espumosa. Tiene un sabor bastante suave, un poco astringente, pero no es tan invasivo como puede pensarse, la verdad es un sabor bastante agradable. Puedo notar porque muchos dicen que, en cuanto a cervezas internacionales, esta es su favorita, la recomiendo.

We are going to open this tasting with Stella Artois beer, which is Belgian, with many years of tradition because it dates back to 1366. It is a lager type, with 5 degrees of alcohol. Its name, Stella in Latin, means star and refers to the star of Bethlehem, which is why this beer is considered a Christmas seasonal beer. It has a light color and is quite frothy. It has a fairly mild flavor, a bit astringent, but it's not as invasive as you might think, it's actually quite a pleasant taste. I can tell why many say that, as far as international beers go, this is their favorite, I recommend it.

Seguimos con otra internacional, ahora es el turno de la cerveza Efes, que es turca, tiene 5º grados de alcohol. Cuenta con mucha popularidad en Turquía porque la empresa que la produce abarca el 80% de la de la cuota de mercado. Es una cerveza que aparte de malta, también tiene arroz entre sus ingredientes y esto me hace recordar un poco la cerveza Budweiser, que probé en la cata pasada que también tenía arroz y eso la hacía un poco más suave.

Tiene un lindo color, es un poco más oscura que la Stella Artois. Su sabor es bastante suave y tiene mucho gusto. Como un dato interesante, esta cerveza es bastante popular en Oriente Medio, en África y en Europa, uno de los eslóganes que aparece acá en la lata, dice que es la cerveza del Mediterráneo. La compañía que la produce, también tiene Efes Dark, Efes Light y Efes extra que contiene un poco más de grados de alcohol y también ha ganado varios galardones de oro en diferentes competencias internacionales.

We continue with another international beer, now it is the turn of Efes beer, which is Turkish, it has 5 degrees of alcohol. It is very popular in Turkey because the company that produces it accounts for 80% of the market share. It is a beer that apart from malt, also has rice among its ingredients and this reminds me a bit of Budweiser beer, which I tasted in the last tasting that also had rice and that made it a little softer.

It has a nice color; it is a little darker than Stella Artois. Its flavor is quite smooth and has a lot of taste. As an interesting fact, this beer is quite popular in the Middle East, Africa and Europe, one of the slogans that appears here on the can says that it is the beer of the Mediterranean. The company that produces it also has Efes Dark, Efes Light and Efes Extra, which contains a little more alcohol and has also won several gold awards in different international competitions.

Bueno y seguimos con las cervezas importadas, ahora le toca el turno a la cerveza Corona que es una cerveza mundialmente conocida, es mexicana y pertenece al Grupo Modelo que son bastante reconocidos en México y ahora a nivel mundial. Es tipo Pilsen y tiene 4,5º grados de alcohol. En cuanto a color, que se parece a la Stella Artois, es clara.

En cuanto a sabor, es bastante fuerte con un sabor un poco astringente a pesar de que tiene menos grados alcohólicos que las anteriores, quizás esto tenga que ver un poco con que es una cerveza mexicana y los mexicanos tratan de tomar bebidas fuertes. De igual manera, es un sabor bastante agradable y por supuesto también muy recomendable para unos cuantos tragos.

Well and we continue with imported beers, now it is the turn of Corona beer, which is a world famous beer, it is Mexican and belongs to Grupo Modelo, which is well known in Mexico and now worldwide. It is Pilsen type and has 4.5º of alcohol. In terms of color, which resembles Stella Artois, it is clear.

In terms of flavor, it is quite strong with a slightly astringent taste despite having less alcohol than the previous ones, perhaps this has to do a little with the fact that it is a Mexican beer and Mexicans try to drink strong beverages. However, it is a very pleasant taste and of course it is also highly recommended for a few drinks.

Ahora es el turno de las cervezas nacionales, vamos a darle el paso a la cerveza Morena que pertenece a la Cervecería Regional. La verdad es que a lo largo de mi vida no había tenido la oportunidad de ver que una productora de cerveza sacara una nueva marca a diferencia de cervezas artesanales y esto llamó poderosamente mi atención y por eso está incluida en la cata.

Esta cerveza es de tipo lager, tiene 5º grados de alcohol, está llenando los anaqueles de los supermercados y he escuchado comentarios de gente que dice que es muy sabrosa. Tiene un color ámbar tostado muy lindo, es bastante carbonatada o espumosa. En cuanto a su sabor, es muy gustosa, se pueden apreciar los sabores a cereales que tiene la cerveza, es un buen acierto por parte de la de la regional, con razón ya entiendo por qué hay tan buenos comentarios en cuanto a esta cerveza que es relativamente nueva.

Now it is the turn of national beers, we are going to give the step to Morena beer, which belongs to Cervecería Regional. The truth is that throughout my life I had not had the opportunity to see a beer producer launch a new brand, unlike craft beers, and this caught my attention and that is why it is included in the tasting.

This beer is a lager, has 5º alcohol, is filling the shelves of supermarkets and I have heard comments from people who say it is very tasty. It has a very nice toasted amber color; it is quite carbonated or foamy. As for its flavor, it is very tasty, you can appreciate the cereal flavors that the beer has, it is a good choice on the part of the regional brewery, and I understand why there are so many good comments about this beer, which is relatively new.

Y para finalizar, una cerveza que está entre mis favoritas, se trata de la cerveza Zulia que es una cerveza de producción nacional. Tiene bastante trayectoria, porque data de la década de los años 20 donde era producida por una cervecería del mismo nombre, luego por algunas fusiones con otras cervecerías fue conocida en otros estados del país, ya que, en sus inicios, solamente era conocida en el estado Zulia.

Esta cerveza desapareció por un tiempo del mercado y luego de la mano de cervecería regional vuelve a los supermercados y a los estantes con un diseño que hace un guiño a la cerveza original, con un envase verde y con una etiqueta amarilla bastante llamativa, la verdad es una de mis cervezas favoritas. tiene 4.5º grados de alcohol, su color es claro y es también es bastante espumosa y bastante refrescante.

Recuerdo que mi papá siempre me contaba que esta era una cerveza muy famosa en sus tiempos y que él estaba muy agradecido de que hayan tomado la receta y la hayan vuelto a sacar al mercado, la recomiendo 100%.

And finally, a beer that is among my favorites, it is Zulia beer, which is a nationally produced beer. It has quite a history, because it dates back to the 1920s where it was produced by a brewery of the same name, then by some mergers with other breweries it was known in other states of the country, since, in the beginning, it was only known in the state of Zulia.

This beer disappeared for a while from the market and then from the hand of the regional brewery returns to supermarkets and shelves with a design that makes a nod to the original beer, with a green bottle and a yellow label quite striking, the truth is one of my favorite beers. It has 4.5 degrees of alcohol, its color is clear and it is also quite frothy and quite refreshing.

I remember my dad always told me that this was a very famous beer in his time and that he was very grateful that they took the recipe and brought it back to the market, I recommend it 100%.
