I love Wednesdays at the gym because we train my favorite muscle groups, deltoids and triceps sural, in functional training we train the core daily because it is an area of rapid regeneration, to execute most of the movement patterns (if not all), you must keep in tension the middle area of your body. When working with the kettlebell you must be very careful because any poor execution can be dangerous for both you and the people around you, especially if we are performing ballistic movements.
In this routine I decided to skip some patterns because in the previous class I had hurt my finger a little bit and I must be very aware of what my body tells me since I am still in my postoperative recovery. We always start with a small pre-fatigue which consists of a series of exercises by repetitions that prepare our muscles for the strong patterns of the routine and at the same time helps us to gain more muscle strength, then we start our self-load circuits with the TRX and overload with the kettlebell.
Both the alternated side swing and skipping and jogging I did not perform them because they are exercises that require a good range of motion of the toes, which yesterday I did not have and so I decided to rest, sometimes it is better to be safe than sorry, as an athlete after so many injuries you learn not to force your body and to know to what extent it is feasible to give the maximum. For the heel jump I made a modification, I removed the jump and only did controlled heel raises with a 19 kilos kettlebell, it is important to note that the triceps sural or better known as calf, is a muscle group that by its position is always active as it is essential for walking and supports all our weight daily, therefore, for best results when training this area is recommended to use enough weight (more than 30 kilos), I used 19 kilos because of my condition.
