hi friends of hive, as Luna's Karate course progressed, the sensei (teacher) noticed in Luna that charisma that characterizes her, that strength to show herself as she is without feeling embarrassed or ashamed and every time a new child entered the course Luna tried to include them in the practices, she took them by the hand and invited them to play. We know how children feel when they enter a new place, a new school, a new class, some are a little shy and it takes them a while to feel comfortable.
One day in a class, a new mom arrives with her daughter to the first day of practice and sensei calls Luna says something in her ear that I can't hear, then she runs quickly to where the new girl was, takes her by the hand, tells her to be friends ☺️ and starts to explain where the practices are done and who everyone else is. I'm approached by the sensei and he says, "Luna will be designated in the Dojo as the PR one, hahaha.... It's just that she has no shame and talks to everyone as if she's known them all their lives and that makes the new people feel good, that's why I called her."
During their first course cycle which lasts 3 months, part of the training includes tournaments with other Dojos so that the children lose stage fright (if they had it) and become familiar with these competitions for future opportunities. Luna with 4 years old had her first tournament friends, ask me who was more nervous for that tournament hahaha. It was a beautiful experience, we went to a big gym, with bleachers, very different from the Dojo that Luna was used to, but she was very calm as if she had already attended many tournaments hahaha, for her it was like another class, while for me it was something new, the nerves, I wondered if she would do well or if she would be hit too hard, I had endless emotions, it's ironic, but she the contestant, who should be nervous with her calm attitude managed to calm me down and just enjoy what was happening.
It was Luna's turn to do first her KATA (imaginary combat) consisting of a choreography that she does alone on the tatami with an initial technique according to her grade as a white belt called TAIKYOKU SHODAN (she says it perfect☺️). In her age group Luna only had one opponent, so it was just the two of them competing for the first place medal (what nerves hehe). Luna didn't do her KATA very well but fortunately she did it better than the other teammate so she won that first part hahaha.
Then it was time to do the KUMITE (combat) Luna was very calm, without nerves, very anxious to start her combat, she was perfect, she applied perfectly everything she had learned and won her KUMITE, she was proud of herself, of what she had achieved and obviously my pride did not fit in me hahaha for being our first tournament was a wonderful experience and not so much because she won, but because it makes clear that perseverance, work and believe in ourselves gives us the best results and I am immensely glad that Luna can learn and live this lesson in the flesh.
