Sunflower Farmer play to earn quickly took off over the last two weeks! It's a farming game built on the Matic blockchain. The explosion growth is hurting the entire matic blockchain! What does this mean for matic and the future of play to earn games?
I respect Sunflower Farmer for trying some new things in the play to earn space such as charity donations to start the game, open source, token halving, and that no pre-sale tokens were made. However the fact that this game was built on the matic blockchain has created a lot of problems for the explosion growth we have seen for this game. If this game was built on a blockchain such as hive, wax or solana maybe it would have a chance to keep growing. However as soon as matic gas fees have gone up, the game becomes no longer scalable and worth it to play to earn. While Matic has low gas fees in comparison to ETH, this single Sunflower Farmer game still shows that Matic isn't ready for things to this scale.
