AR-15 Info and Cleaning

AR-15!!!!! This rifle stirs up lots of emotion for pro and anti gunners. This is not only the choice gun for the most responsible gun owners but also for the criminal. The reason why gun enthusiasts love this rifle is bc all the modifications that can be done with it. The AR-15 comes in only 223, 556, and 22 rounds. The 223 and 556 can be fired from the same gun and be mixed in the same magazine. The AR does not stand for assault rifle, it stands for Armalite Rifle .

There’s no such classification of gun as "assault", the term was used for commercial use, just like “military grade” has nothing to do with how well made something is or the quality of craftsmanship. Also Corinthian leather is not anything. It’s just a word to create emotional and mental reactions for political and commercial use, just like assault rifle. And for afterthought, if I take a supersoaker and hit someone over the head with it it’s now become an assault rifle. The AR-15 will always be a heated subject of debate even though most hunting rifles and rounds out perform it.

Now we can begin! Start by using a round for the rifle and push the holding pin on the side of the rifle in to release the bottom form the upper.

In order to remove the bolt for the gun on this model you need to remove the charge handle.

The rod used for gas, gas rod, will come out as well when you remove the charge handle and bolt.

The small and narrow barrel of this rifle was not allowing me to use the usual method of cleaning. So I had to improvise. I tried multiple ways including making a makeshift "plug" like you would use for a shotgun, but I used thin string and a piece of cleaning patch.

In the end I cut small cleaning patches into small bits that I could insert unattached soaked in oil and push the through with a ramrod. Repeat with clean patches in order to complete cleaning of barrel.

The video cuts off before I am done cleaning, but it is the same as usual. Take a cleaning patch and wipe down all metal and moving parts of your rifle. When you are satisfied reassemble your rifle.
