In this post I’ve strung all the videos I took as we were butchering the deer. This entire process probably took 2-3 hours bc I was teaching someone new, we had to stop to sharpen knives, stop to examine injuries, test the meat in different areas to see if it had been affected by the injury, along with a few more bumps along the way. This is not a super common thing to happen. If I had to put a number to it I had shot 8 deer this season and 2 of them had injuries so 1 out of 4 deer could possibly have something wrong with them. On the other hand I’ve had to deal with sick or injured deer only 6-9 times at various rates of seriousness but I have shot killed and butchered over 80 deer.
This concludes the entire deer processing with a video going over each and every step. Bc this deer was injured and had to be handled carefully there are some gaps where you couldn’t see exactly what happened bc I had to take of those steps myself. In the future my wife will most likely be filming me going through the process myself in order for The Hive Community to see how of correctly treat such an animal. This deer was in my car for 2 days bc Nick wanted to learn how to complete the butchering process.
All the text and pictures showing in detail what is happening as we complete the process of the deer can be seen in my previous posts. I found it redundant to repost information that I already have on my blogs. This post just simply ties everything up and shows the process in one video.
