    Hello there Axie pips!

Jumping Poison teams are some of the most annoying teams to battle with in the arena.
They got these pair of annoying backdoor cards like toothless bite and smart shot to make sure everyone of your axies will be inflicted by their posion.
It's not really much in the earlier rounds but the longer the battle drags on, the more advantageous position they gain.
The posion keeps stacking every round and your team took damage for every turn. Even the simplest of moves like gaining energy or passive defending would chip away some of your axies health.
In this battle we'll try to analyze how we fared against a legit jumping poison team. Anyway, they are not the perfect meta because unlike those dusks in the upper tier with 50 speeds, our opponents for today only have 45 and 48 speed for their mid and backline respectively. Also, they have kotaro instead of chomp for their which was more favorable for us.

They have a good draw for their plant. Playing 2x Vegetal Bite and Yam seemed to be a good choice for them. We countered with Vegetal Bite and Pumpkin. They had a slight advantage over us in this exchange. If we chose to pass then this could be huge but since we played 2 cards they only managed to steal one of our energy which we would steal back later. It's really better if you have a slower plant when you have this energy stealing phase in the early rounds. I think it could be more efficient for them if they used Yam first followed by 2x Vegetal Bite to maximize their damage output from the poison.

I thnk we played Catapult rather early. I was thinking that since Grass Snake is zero cost they would have played Smartshot + Grass Snake + Garish Worm, chained with another grass from their backine. Later did I realized the probabaility was quite low since they already failed in stealing energy in the previous round. Anyways, since they didn't defend we still inflicted considerable damage to their tank and manage to steal an energy from them making us even in energy count for the next round.
We thought that they would play offense but were still defensive as play heal and yam in their plant. We got a poison stack in our backline and at the end of this our plant was at 5 stacks. Every turn or action from both sides each stack reduces the hp by 2, so it was -10 hp for plant starting in round 4.

Although we eliminated their tank the next round they would have an overwhelming advantage in energy the following round. And look at our tank, since it already got 11 posion stacks they might just ignore it and would focus more of their attacks at the mid and the back. We knew it was coming. That backdoor combo with 2x Garish Worm almost took 70% at the back. Even if it hurts we got no choice but to bide our time, just focus on gaining energy and be hopeful that we would enough health to sustain the next encounters.

The pass they made in round 6 was a life saver. If ever they decided to no turn the back line then their mid would still be alive and they could have won the game in the next two rounds. It was gamble on our part but thankfully it paid off. That last Cactus from our plant was one of the most important plays we made in this battle, just emough to chip off a good chunk of their health. Both our back and frontlines did their roles before they perish in round 7.

It came to a 1 v 1, their dusks against our reptile. It's funny that both have 335 hp at the start of this round. We got poison stacks but it was only 2 so it's still bearable. They played Grass Snake + 2x Garish + Clam Smash and manage to bring our health down to 262. We played each card part available and since we have catapult we manage to reflect 120 damage to them earlier. At the end it was our victory. We only got lucky because we have minimal stacks of poison before the 1 v1. things could have been different if their mid with smartshot was not took down earlier. Well, what's bad for them is good for us.

And that is all for today's log.
Thank you very much for visiting. See you soon
    Ciao~
