Como si esto fuera poco, el piloto español Carlos Sainz adelanta que Ferrari está evaluando instalar una nueva unidad de potencia en su auto, lo que provocaría una penalización en la parrilla para el Gran Premio de Francia de este fin de semana; recordemos que en Austria la unidad de potencia del madrileño estalló en llamas causando daños significativos a su F1-75.

Desde 2014, los equipos cuentan con tres unidades de cada componente del motor del auto. Cuando se usan más de tres unidades —ya sea por daños en motor de combustión, el turbo u otro componente de la Unidad de potencia—, aplican las sanciones.

Leclerc nuevamente tiene la oportunidad de obtener dos victorias al hilo en esta temporada, hasta ahí todo bien para Ferrari, eso sí, los cincuenta y seis puntos de diferencia que los separan de Red Bull en el campeonato de constructores luce una tarea titánica para el equipo del Cavallino Rampante. Verstappen aún se encuentra en su momento y seguramente convertirá el circuito de Paul Ricard en una batalla cerrada por el liderato, mientras que los pilotos de Mercedes llegan a Francia con el optimismo de seguir reduciendo la brecha que los separa de los equipos punteros.
