    Saludos Hivers

    Greetings Hivers

From Caracas to Madrid* is a song by the Venezuelan rock band Malanga, from their studio album Nobody wants to be alone, from the year 2005.

One of the spectacular bands from my country, who make a divine fusion between rock and pop, and who also keep that musical flavor that is only found in these lands. Currently missing and inactive.

I have always had as a topic of discussion with my friends the way of writing the songs, and in general, composing the musical themes. And this is because there is that conflicting criterion of writing the lyrics first and then the musical base, and vice versa, which has been the way in which the harmonious base is mainly composed with the instruments and lastly the lyrics begin to be composed. But coincidentally, all my fellow musicians are rock lovers, just like me, and in the end we agreed that the special way to get to compose a song in this musical genre is to write it first and then assemble the instruments.

And you may be wondering why I touch on this topic in this post, and the answer is that I've always wondered how a pop artist composes songs like this one that I've covered on this occasion. Because doing this test in which I place the chords and sing the lyrics, it's hard for me to think that the song came mainly from writing.

Malanga has always been characterized by sounding quite raw in their concerts, and on their records they rarely put that amount of unbridled effects that distinguishes the pop industry. But I feel that there is quite extensive post-production work that allows you to create these environments, as if you were really submerged in a three-day party waking up without sleeping. This work looks great to me.

Without stopping you further, I leave you with my guitar version of Malanga and the iconic song De Caracas a Madrid. I hope you enjoy this humble work my friends. Until next time.

    Blessings for all!

    "De Caracas a Madrid"

    Tienes tantas noches sin dormir
¿Será que ya te sangra la nariz?

Que para ti, no sale el sol
Y que la luna te da igual
    ¿Dónde irás a estar mañana?

    No trataba de cambiarte
    No pusiste de tu parte...
    Y yo te digo nena
    eres un desastre

    Te busqué desde
    Caracas a Madrid
    Ahora vienes a buscarme

    Ahora vienes a buscarme
No me digas que tu fiesta terminó...

    Te busqué desde
    Caracas a Madrid
    Ahora vienes a buscarme
No me digas que tu fiesta terminó...

No te vi en ninguna parte
    Ahora vienes a buscarme
No me digas que tu fiesta terminó...

    "From Caracas to Madrid"

You have so many sleepless nights
    Is your nose bleeding already?

That for you, the sun does not rise
And that the moon doesn't matter to you
    Where will you be tomorrow?

I wasn't trying to change you
    You didn't do your part...
And I tell you girl you're a mess

I looked for you from Caracas to Madrid
In the ruins of one such Berlin wall
    I didn't see you anywhere
Now you come looking for me
Don't tell me your party is over...

How did you think it would end?
If you went round and round without stopping

    And if your cup spilled
    Everything has its end
    And nothing remains of everything

I wasn't trying to change you
    You didn't do your part...
And I tell you girl you're a mess

I looked for you from Caracas to Madrid
In the ruins of one such Berlin wall
    I didn't see you anywhere
Now you come looking for me
Don't tell me your party is over...

I looked for you from Caracas to Madrid
In the ruins of one such Berlin wall
    I didn't see you anywhere
Now you come looking for me
Don't tell me your party is over...

    I didn't see you anywhere
Now you come looking for me
Don't tell me your party is over...
