This is a finishing clip from a game where I was able to use Twisting Talisman in a way I hadn't planned on: my own creatures
Deception has a lot of ways to boost strength, but then those characters get cleared quickly. TT lets you turn any
creature into a switch duelist for a turn.
Here's how the armor lurked wound up here (wish I had recorded the whole game):
I started thinking about Twisting Talisman because of all the new strength steal cards. I was (and still am) running
Munosian Infiltrator because you can instantly kill any creature that you've lowered to 0 strength. The downside
of Munosian is that it's only creatures 3 mana or less.
Twisting Talisman doesn't have this restriction, so I gave it a try. It is effective at creature removal when combo'd
with all the new strength steal Deception has. Deception isn't known for relics, so an opponent (not deck peaking)
would likely mulligan away removal. At only 2 mana, it's not hard to get equipped while maintaining some
tempo.
It wasn't until this game, where I was looking at a 9/1 armor lurker about to get killed that I thought to check
to see if the relic works on your own creatures.
Is this meta? I don't know. Maybe not. BUT, this is what I love about TCGs: discovering something new. To my
knowledge, no one has put this together yet, and even if so, it's still rewarding to have discovered it own
your own. I'm still refining my deck, but I'll probably post it in the next week or so. Just wanted to share this
for now.
