UNVEILING THE AFRI-TUNES LOGO

Afri-tunes' Logo adopts the three colours of the Pan-African flag: Red, Black and Green.

☆ Red Compartment

• The red colour signifies the noble Blood that unites all people of African ancestry;
• The Presence of the Lion is a sign of strength to this bond;
• The white and red (already merged) Signifies the presence of Hive.

☆ Black Compartment

• The black colour signifies the African people;
• The withered trees represent the cycle of life and death, happiness and sorrows, tears and laughter.

☆ Green Compartment

• The Green colour signifies the abundant and vibrant natural wealth and rich land of Africa, the Motherland.
• The talking drum is a symbol of the African Music celebrating the rich wealth and culture of Africa.

Afri-tunes celebrates Africa: the bond that unites us, our strengths and weaknesses, our Joys and sorrows and our rich culture. We choose MUSIC as a means of celebrating our "Africanness" on Hive and to the world.

@ovey10 blesses us with his melodious Trumpet Cover of a wonderful and beautiful song of adoration and thanksgiving to God titled, Hallelujah Amen" by Nathaniel Bassey. His entry is historical to this project as it is the very first entry of our wonderful Afri-tunes Weekend on Hive.

AFRI-TUNES WEEKEND || Sweet Mother and Palmwine Groove Guitar Jamz by Charles

Charles gives us a superb Guitar performance mixing two wonderful Songs. The first is Sweet Mother, a popular African song that speaks about the Joys of motherhood, and the second is a Groove that ignites the Highlife spirit in you; the Palmwine Groove.

AFRITUNES: ORIGINAL PAPA BY G-WILLS || MAKOSA GUITAR VIBES THAT WOULD MAKE YOU DANCE ON YOUR FEET by @starstrings01

@starstrings01 puts us in the mood of dancing with his Makossa Groove and vibes. Indeed, the title is not misleading: the vibes will literally put you on your feet to dance. He blesses us with a guitar Cover of the song titled "Original Papa" by G-Wills.

D4Music celebrates his loving and wonderful parents in this mix where he sings with his sonorous and melodious voice, accompanied with the strum of his acoustic guitar. He combines 3 wonderful songs to create this mix.

AFRI-TUNES WEEKEND | FELA - When Trouble Sleep - Sax Cover by ksam by @ksam

@ksam takes us to the time of one of the Greatest Musicians in Africa, the father and founder of Afrobeat, Fela. He plays one of Fela's Legendary songs with his Saxophone, titled "When Trouble Sleep." The song was sung in pidgin English.

AIM OF THE "HIGHLIFE WEEKEND ON HIVE" EVENT

The Afri-tunes Weekend on Hive is a weekly event that is founded on Hive to nourish and enrich the Hive Musical Family (and the Hive Community at large) with African Tunes and Musical Genres.

It is our sole aim to spread the love, the calmness, the smiles, the culture, the songs and the dance associated with African tunes.

We also intend to use this means to drive engagement in the Hive Musical Community and enrich the Hive Community.

PLATFORMS

• The Hive Music Community @music-community will be our home and the Platform where we will post our amazing Afri-tunes Contents.

This is done with full adherence to the description and rules of Music Community

Description
Music community for all addicts of great tunes. Aim is to bring together anyone that loves music as well as professional producers, artists, DJs and music businesses.

Rules
1 Create posts that drive engagement around music and enrich the community
2 Stories around Music
3 Original music creation
4 Party environment and contests the encourage the community to interact
5 All music genres allowed

• We intend to run this weekly program on Weekends: 00:00 on Fridays to 23:59 (11:59pm) on Sundays, using GMT +1 as our time standard.
• All posts for the event should be posted within the time-frame above.
• A compilation and highlights of all inputs and presentations will be posted on Monday in the Hive Music Community. If there's any update, we shall communicate as well.
• Participants will be encouraged to use the following tags: #music and the unique tags of #afri-tunes and #africanweekend in their posts.

HIVE ON-BOARDING PLANS

We also intend to use this event to reach out to artists, musicians and dancers who aren't on Hive. We will share our posts outside Hive and invite those who are talented but are not part of Hive. We will spread the word about Hive, and share them our experience of Hive: a WORLD where they will be rewarded for their content, talents, efforts and sacrifices; a world where they can meet like minds and build relationships.

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

• We are calling on Musicians; singers and instrumentalists, who love African tunes to join us in making this project a wonderful one.
• The initiative also encourages participants to set <4% reward to the official account of Hive Music Community @hive-193816. This is to appreciate the Hive Music Community for providing this wonderful platform for all musicians on Hive.

REWARDS FOR WEEK 1

• @ovey10 will receive 2.5 Hive for making a historical entry for this event.
• All entries will receive 2 Hive each for participating in this first event.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

• The SECOND WEEK OF OUR AFRI-TUNES WEEKEND EVENT is this weekend (18 - 20, March 2022).
• The first valid entry will receive a reward of 2 Hive, courtesy of the coordinators.
• All valid entries for this week will receive Hive rewards, courtesy of the coordinators.

@ksam is a "uniquely creative" Hive lover who combines his musical, writing, linguistic, video and audio editing skills to promote creativity and ideas in the Hive Community.

Co-founder - Emmanuel Popoola @starstrings01

@Starstrings01 AKA Giftedhands is a Hive lover, a Nigeria musician (Guitarist) and also a student who studies Mechatronics Engineering in the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
His goal on Hive is to be more than a regular blogger but something more; someone with a purpose. That’s one of the reasons why he founded the newbies initiative @newbies-hive to help guide and support newbies.

Co-founder - Obaro Adewale @obaro

D4MUSIC is a musician (singer, pianist, drummer, guitarist) who has passion for music. He loves arts (drawings). He is also a Nigerian student studying chemistry in one of the prestigious Universities in Nigeria (AAUA). He tries to balance his academic live with hive activities. He aims towards being not just a regular hiver, but a game changer, and a great impact to the hive communities.
