What does Hive mean to You?

To begin with, I wish to ask you all, "what does Hive mean to you?"

If each of us start sharing what Hive means to us, we will realise that we all have our different or unique understanding and perspectives about Hive.

We joined Hive for different reasons; we are motivated to be active on Hive for various reasons; and we love Hive for various reasons.

So what are your reasons for being active on Hive? What do you love about Hive? What does Hive mean to you?

For the purpose of this piece, I'll love to speak about what Hive means to me. I'll focus on five key points, however, I know that there are more than five.

1. HIVE IS A PLATFORM I SHARE MY CONTENT, IDEAS AND THOUGHTS

At first, I was introduced to Hive as a platform where I can share my guitar videos, my music, and I'll also have the possibility to earn from them.

Prior to joining Hive, I shared my music and thoughts on other Social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter. So when I was introduced to Hive, I felt it was just another Social Media, although I had to write an introductory post, which wasn't required in other platforms.

My onboarder didn't really focus much on the earning potentials of Hive, but on the aspect of sharing content. This I really appreciate because I cared less about post rewards at that beginning stage, and this still inspires me till today.

Till today, I still value the sharing aspect of Hive, and it means a lot to me.

2. HIVE MOTIVATES ME TO BE MORE CREATIVE

I love being creative and I love challenging myself to be more creative. Hive and the lovely Hivians have greatly motivated me to double my creativity, and this is evidenced in the level of growth I've achieved in the content I make.

One important creative motivation is my recent trend of Singing while playing my musical instruments. Prior to joining Hive, I only play multiple musical instruments, but I don't sing along. But through the motivation from so many Hivians and their words of encouragement, I've begun singing, and I'm improving little by little.

3. HIVE IS A PLATFORM FOR LEARNING

Hive is a great platform to learn. There are so many great articles and materials written by knowledgeable individuals, and digesting these content will expand ones overview on Life, Hive and the blockchain world.

On Hive, I learnt a lot about Cryptocurrency, about Blockchain, the differences between Web 2.0, Web 2.5 and Web 3.0 (thanks to Theycallmedan and his team for the CTT program way back in January 2022).

I also learnt about Centralization, Decentralization, CEXs and DEXs, Liquidity Pool and so much more. I also appreciate Taskmaster for the knowledge he shared during our conversation on Threads about those topics.

4. HIVE IS A PLACE I EARN

Undeniably, Hive has been a great source of income for me, and it has also been a blessing for me and my friends, those who've benefited financially through me.

Hive has so many streams of income, and tapping into these would be a great way to earn on Hive for the present moment, and to save for the future.

5. HIVE IS A PLACE I MEET AND MAKE FRIENDS, AS WELL AS BUILD RELATIONSHIPS

Hive has given the platform to meet with people, and many of these great people are those who I may not get the opportunity to meet in Life without Hive. But with Hive, I have established great relationships with them, and Hive become so close to many that our friendship has extended off-hive as well.

Truly, engagement has so many great benefits on Hive, and in life.
