Hey, Steemit/@threespeak. I have so many things in the air right now. I haven’t been shooting much, but getting caught up on a ton of editing. I also took a founders position with a Detroit based blockchain start up as a visual artist. In addition to that, I’m finally started writing two novels. One is a near future dystopian wealth story that I’ve been planning on doing as a graphic novel for years. I finally decided it’ll work better as a novel. The other is a Lovecraftian horror based on the last remaining Puritans of 1880’s New England.
I’ve been digging through a lot of old work lately. HD space is always a point of resistance in my life. My shoots are typically between 10 - 20 GB’s and at the pace I’ve been shooting the last 5 years, it just seems to evaporate. In going through old files and backups, I stumbled across a few BTS videos taken during a shoot that became very iconic in my storied collaborations with Ryan Ashley. This was in July of 2017 photographed at a repurposed rectory in our hometown of Kingston, PA. Of course, I didn’t know at the time how special this shoot would become. One image became the cover of my book, Dark Pinup. So amazing that we were recording it all as it happened.
I thought this footage was gone forever. I’m elated to have found it and to be able to share it with all of you. Ryan just got in touch with me yesterday and gave me a list of edits she’d like me to finish from our last shoot in Minnesota this summer. Also, this is super secret Steemit business that I won’t be announcing publicly, but Ash Costello and I are planning for something truly epic together the next time I’m in LA. Thank you all so much for keeping my afloat during this turbulent, exciting time. I have a sense of rejuvenated creativity and I really needed the break from traveling. I love you all and appreciate your support more than you’ll ever know.
