Cuenta una historia muy antigua una fábula acerca de algo que le sucedió a un joven elefante. El elefante era grande, apuesto y muy inteligente, pero no encontraba pareja, y veía con cierta tristeza cómo el resto de sus compañeros iban formando una familia, mientras él continuaba solo. Pero un día, su manada se encontró con otra manada de elefantes, entre los cuales, había una linda elefanta soltera, que enseguida se fijó en él.

A very old story tells a fable about something that happened to a young elephant. The elephant was big, handsome and very intelligent, but he could not find a mate, and he watched with some sadness as the rest of his companions were forming a family, while he remained alone. But one day, his herd met another herd of elephants, among which there was a pretty single elephant, who immediately noticed him.

The two began to play and take long walks in the jungle. They liked the same things and laughed non-stop. They had fun and couldn't stop seeing each other. Until they realized that they were madly in love. So the elephant, without hesitation, asked the elephant to marry the elephant. The two herds of elephants were overjoyed! It had been a long time since they had celebrated a wedding! So they organized the event with great enthusiasm. While some prepared the banquet, others began to build the place where the wedding would take place.

El elefante se puso muy nervioso, sentía que su corazón se iba a escapar del pecho. ¡No podía controlarlo! Y se puso a escarbar con las patas, con la trompa, a dar vueltas en círculo… El agua se enturbió por la arena que levantaba con las patas y el elefante no podía ver nada. ¡No podía encontrar el anillo!

The elephant became very nervous, he felt that his heart was going to escape from his chest. He could not control it! And he began to dig with his legs, with his trunk, to turn in circles... The water became cloudy because of the sand he was kicking up with his legs and the elephant could not see anything. He could not find the ring!

Un búho, que había visto todo desde la rama de su árbol, le dijo: – ¡Tranquilo! ¡Para! Pero el elefante no podía oír nada. Estaba tan nervioso, sentía tal ansiedad, que no era capaz de escuchar, solo podía pensar en que no daría tiempo a hacer un anillo nuevo, y que su novia se disgustaría muchísimo al enterarse de lo que había pasado. Entonces, el búho aterrizó sobre el elefante y le volvió a decir: – ¡Para! ¡Tranquilízate! Y el elefante se dio cuenta de que el búho le estaba hablando. Y decidió escuchar, porque sabía que el búho era uno de los animales más sabios del lugar.

An owl, who had seen everything from the branch of his tree, said to him: - Quiet! Stop! But the elephant could hear nothing. He was so nervous, so anxious, that he could not hear, he could only think that he would not have time to make a new ring, and that his girlfriend would be very upset to learn what had happened. Then the owl landed on the elephant and said to him again: - Stop! Calm down! And the elephant realized that the owl was talking to him. And he decided to listen, because he knew that the owl was one of the wisest animals around.

– Estás tan nervioso que no dejas de excavar en la arena. Levantas tierra y ésta enturbia el agua- dijo el búho-. Lo que tienes que hacer es quedarte quieto, muy quieto, esperar y observar.

El elefante hizo lo que el búho le dijo. Al fin se tranquilizó, y la tierra comenzó a depositarse en el fondo del río. El agua se calmó y algo en el fondo comenzó a brillar con nitidez. ¡Era el anillo de boda!

The elephant did as the owl told him. At last he calmed down, and the dirt began to settle to the bottom of the river. The water calmed down and something at the bottom began to glow brightly. It was the wedding ring!

– ¡Oh, muchas gracias, búho! ¡Muchísimas gracias por tu consejo! - dijo emocionado el elefante.

La boda se pudo celebrar, sin más sobresaltos. El búho hizo de padrino de honor y los elefantes se dieron el sí quiero, alianzas incluidas, ante la emoción y felicidad del resto. Y el elefante, por su parte, aprendió una sabia lección.

The wedding could take place, without any further problems. The owl acted as best man and the elephants said "I do", wedding rings included, to the excitement and happiness of the rest. And the elephant, for his part, learned a wise lesson.

Mi gente, vivir de forma calmada puede ayudarnos a vivir de una mejor manera y quizás durante mucho más tiempo. Unfortunately many of us are forced to live a very stressful life on a continuous basis, and with that the diseases associated with this lifestyle will soon appear, and basically they are all stress related.

Lamentablemente, no podemos frenar el ritmo de vida actual, pero sí podemos intentar que en nuestro entorno exista el mayor nivel de calma posible, relajarnos diariamente haciendo aquellas cosas que más nos den satisfacción nos ayudará a mantener bajos nuestros niveles de estrés.

Unfortunately, we can not stop the current pace of life, but we can try that in our environment there is the highest level of calm possible, relax daily doing those things that give us more satisfaction will help us to keep our stress levels low.

Si sientes que la rutina te agobia, que la preocupación y la ansiedad se han hecho parte de ti, descansa un momento. If you feel that routine overwhelms you, that worry and anxiety have become part of you, take a break for a moment. There is no certain age to obtain or achieve things, the phrase that says: "the train passes only once" is false. Recuerda esto: No sabemos cuándo será nuestro último día de vida, por eso hagamos que cada día cuente y tenga significado. ¿Te gustaría pasar tus últimos momentos agobiado, preocupado, sintiéndote insuficiente? Mejor valórate y recuerda que fuiste creado por un gran Creador que te dio el derecho de vivir en plenitud.

No te angusties si aún no tienes empleo, o si no has logrado el éxito con tu empresa o emprendimiento. No sufras por no haber encontrado aún el amor, o por no salir a divertirte todos los fines de semana. Tómate la vida con calma. Todo llegará, no permitas que la presión te haga conformarte con lo que no te hace feliz.

Don't be distressed if you still don't have a job, or if you haven't achieved success with your business or enterprise. Don't suffer for not having found love yet, or for not going out to have fun every weekend. Take life calmly. Everything will come, do not let the pressure make you settle for what does not make you happy.

Ponte objetivos, trabaja por ellos esforzadamente por conseguirlos. Y no te obsesiones con la meta, mejor disfruta del camino.

Set goals, work hard to achieve them. And don't get obsessed with the goal, better enjoy the journey.

¿Qué aprendió el elefante de la historia? «Cuando las aguas turbias no te dejen ver el fondo del río, no te muevas: espera a que la tierra se pose y el agua vuelva a mostrarse cristalina».
