El Sabio Salomón escribió en el libro de Proverbios 24:10: “Quien se rinde ante un problema, no demuestra fuerza ni carácter.”

The Wise Solomon wrote in the book of Proverbs 24:10: "Whoever gives up on a problem shows neither strength nor character."

Un niño fue con su padre al acuario y mientras caminaban observaron como un biólogo marino entrenaba a un tiburón en un gran tanque de retención y le lanzaba peces pequeños adentro.

Ellos expectantes vieron como el tiburón, como era de esperarse, nadó rápidamente alrededor del tanque y se comió los peces.

A boy went with his father to the aquarium and as they walked along they watched as a marine biologist trained a shark in a large holding tank and threw small fish into it.

They expectantly watched as the shark, as expected, quickly swam around the tank and ate the fish.

Luego de esto el biólogo insertó una pieza fuerte de fibra de vidrio transparente en el tanque, creando dos compartimientos en la pecera. Puso el tiburón a un lado y del otro lado un nuevo grupo de peces pequeños.

The biologist then inserted a strong piece of clear fiberglass into the tank, creating two compartments in the tank. He put the shark on one side and on the other side a new group of small fish.

Al instante de esto, el tiburón atacó de nuevo. Esta vez, sin embargo, se estrelló contra el divisor transparente y rebotó.

Instantly after this, the shark attacked again. This time, however, it crashed into the transparent divider and bounced off.

Sin importarle, el tiburón siguió repitiendo este comportamiento, pero fue en vano, pues los peces nadaban ilesos en el segundo compartimiento del tanque. Finalmente, aproximadamente una hora después del experimento, el tiburón se rindió.

Not caring, the shark kept repeating this behavior, but to no avail, as the fish swam unharmed in the second compartment of the tank. Finally, about an hour into the experiment, the shark gave up.

El padre y su hijo regresaron a casa, sin embargo, el niño maravillado por saber el resultado del experimento pidió a su padre que continuara llevándolo durante las siguientes semanas y así fue.

The father and son returned home; however, the boy, amazed to learn the result of the experiment, asked his father to continue taking him for the next few weeks, and he did.

Un día el padre del jovencito notó que el tiburón se volvía menos agresivo e intentaba con menos fuerzas atacar a los peces, hasta que finalmente se cansó de golpear el divisor y simplemente dejó de atacar por completo.

One day the young boy's father noticed that the shark became less aggressive and tried less hard to attack the fish, until finally it got tired of hitting the divider and simply stopped attacking altogether.

Al mes siguiente volvieron para por fin descubrir los resultados y vieron que el biólogo retiraba el divisor, en ese momento el niño entro en pánico pues no quería ver a los peces morir otra vez, pero para su sorpresa el tiburón no atacó.

The next month they returned to finally find out the results and saw that the biologist removed the divider, at which point the boy panicked because he did not want to see the fish die again, but to his surprise the shark did not attack.

Fue entonces cuando su padre le explico: – Hijo este es el tan esperado resultado, el tiburón por haber tenido un tiempo una barrera frente a él decidió rendirse y no volver a intentar lograr alimentarse de los peces más pequeños, él fue engañado y decidió rendirse.

It was then when his father explained to him: - Son, this is the long awaited result, the shark because it had a barrier in front of it for a while decided to give up and not try to feed on the smaller fish again, he was tricked and decided to give up.

Mi gente, en ocasiones nos sentimos agotados de tanto intentar y constantemente fracasar. Nos proponemos metas, pero fallamos cada vez que intentamos avanzar. Aun así, no debemos darnos por vencidos, la vida está llena de dificultades y fracasos puntuales, pero esos nos hacen cada vez más fuertes y nos enseñan las cosas que NO DEBEMOS hacer.

My people, sometimes we feel exhausted from trying so hard and constantly failing. We set goals, but fail every time we try to move forward. Even so, we should not give up, life is full of difficulties and occasional failures, but those make us stronger and stronger and teach us the things we SHOULD NOT do.

Solo los que insisten y persisten logran sus metas, se trata de tener la fortaleza mental para enfrentar los problemas, se trata de creer en ti, se trata de creer en Dios y en la fuerza que Él nos da para avanzar.

Only those who insist and persist achieve their goals, it is about having the mental strength to face problems, it is about believing in yourself, it is about believing in God and in the strength He gives us to move forward.

No permitamos que el desánimo se apodere de nuestra mente y nos haga desistir, ya que muchas veces nos rendimos después de haber fallado más de una vez. Todos tenemos metas en el trabajo, los estudios, en la familia. Hoy queremos que recuperes esa fuerza con la que empezaste, esas ganas que te motivaron a iniciar, recuerda siempre mantener tus ojos en la meta, no te distraigas con lo que te quiera detener.

Let's not allow discouragement to take over our mind and make us give up, because many times we give up after having failed more than once. We all have goals at work, in our studies, in our family. Today we want you to recover that strength with which you started, that desire that motivated you to start, always remember to keep your eyes on the goal, do not get distracted by what wants to stop you.

Cuando recuerdas cuál es tu propósito, meta, objetivo en la vida, te mantienes firme ante las dificultades.
