CROSS CULTURE QUESTION #2|| WHAT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR PARENTS?

Growing up I always didn’t understand my mother and because of this we always hit heads and I wouldn’t say that things have completely changed but it is far better right now than it was before because I understand a lot of things that my mother had to do to make my life better.

I will be answering questions about my relationship with my mother below and it is important to know that this prompt was created by @selfhelp4trolls so without further ado let’s answer these questions.

1. What role do/did your parents play in your life?

My mother singlehandedly raised me and my siblings so I will say that she played a whole lot of roles in my life which I am grateful for.

1. Has your relationship with your parents changed over the years?

My relationship with my mother has changed drastically over the years and I think one major reason for this is maturity on my part and the ability to speak out.

1. ** Is there anything you wish your parents would do (or would have done) differently?**

There are a lot of things I wish my mother had done differently and the major thing was I wished she gave me more emotional support, like most Nigerian parents, she focused on providing financially and not necessary emotions

1. How are you similar to your parents?

I wouldn’t say I am similar to my mother but my brother says otherwise which I discussed in the video.

1. ** How are you different from your parents?**

I would say that I and my mother are polar opposite in most areas and the way we see things are so very different.

1. Do you prefer a more involved relationship with your parents or more distance?

I wouldn’t say I have ever had the option to choose because I have a very close nit family but for me, I think that a balance is needed.
